The Falcons have a nice D but their offense is in its formative stages. IMHO they are definitely overrated. They would likely be 7-4 or 6-5 if they played in the AFC. They do have quality wins over San diego and Denver, but the rest of their schedule has been very weak, including their two losses -- to Detroit and KC. OTOH, with their remaining schedule (TB, Oak, Carolina, NO and Seattle), they could run the table and be on a roll for the playoffs.
At least the Jets are in the AFC. But their schedule (2 ea vs Miami and Buffalo, plus SF, Cleveland and Arizona for 6-1) certainly helped. And without a real QB, they are in for at least 2 more losses (NE and PGH), possibly more. Good chance they'll be the odd men out in the AFC wild card race.

Then you must think really low of them . Everything I've been reading is how Atlanta is really an average team, etc, etc. I guess you can make that claim if the Falcons lost Vick. However, with Vick, he just wins games. He may not have the big stats, but he pulls it out in the end.
His career record so far is 21-10-1 with a below average offensive line, average running backs, a great TE, and piss poor wide recievers. |
Right now, I'd call Vick a below average quarterback, too. But with flashes of brilliance when it counts and he just wins.
I don't think he's great, but he can and will be.
You've helped sell him to me, Imran.
ACK!
