FWIW, Laura and I moved in together after 4 years so it's not like we followed my g'parents example.

sounds like statuatory rape to me

you can't compare your grandparents to people today.

Clearly people are different in the younger generation. How else do you explain a 50% divorce rate compared to a very low divorce rate in your grandparents generation.

Yes it was a different time, however my point still stands... people can and do fall in love that quickly. It might be a rash decision for many of them, but not all.

The problem isn't falling completely in love in 3 months. The problem is "move in or I'm gone" at 3 months.

Better off without her.

Understanding wench, wasn't she?

Some people have speculated that she wanted someone to help with the rent. If so, she'd have said so. No, she wanted a lap dog. "Yes dear. Yes dear. Yes dear."

Considering that I'd be married by the time I moved in with her, 3 years sounds about right to me.

I mean, I've known some friends of mine now for 5.

# months may ormay not be too quick to move in . .. it depends how you feel about the situation. But 3 months is definitely too quick for ultimatums . . . But I generally hate ultimatums and made my feelings known quite clearly to anyone I dated that if they told me to do something "or else", they better be prepared to go through with the "or else" since I don't respond well to threats

Full PM-box? Change here!

Oh and I won't get into the contest of who knows more about " women". Long term relationship folks, people who date a lot . .. heck even the guy that has a lot of female friends . . . they all learn a lot but they learn different things about different women. Does it help when interacting with women generally in the future?? Absolutely but doesn't change the fact that IMHO we all know squat about " women".

I'm a married guy that dated a lot so I have seen things from both those viewpoints. But despite success in my interactions, I would never claim to "understand" women as a group. Too many variables . .. .

They are more similar than you think. Spray is right in that the woman demanding a committment this early in the relationship is silly. It's been only 3 months and if it is love at first sight, what is wrong with letting it develop before asking for a committment.

living with your girlfriend is no big deal really.... it's actually quite nice. Just make sure your personalities don't clash BEFORE you do it... maybe have a test run of it.
