Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I was wondering when someone was going to mention Tom Hanks.
Being the age that I am I'd like to add Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Cary Grant, Peter O'Toole, Michael Caine, Jack Lemon, Alec Guiness, and Natalie Wood.

Finally I'd like to point out that everyone on that list has made stinkers. The artistry of a movie does not depend soley upon the actors and actresses, it also rests upon the scriptwriters, the director, and the editors. I've even seen movies ruined by the musical department and the prop masters / special effects artists.

not to threadjack, but Steven Spielbergo is making a remake of War of the Worlds. What do you all think? Who has seen the original?

Personally, I think it's a mistake. I like the old 50's version.

Everybody's something to hide except me and my monkey.

However, I'm not sure about Edward Norton. Has somebody seen a bad movie with Ed?

Even when he's one of the best actors for me, if I vote for a "Movie stars you trust to make good movies" I only think in Edward Norton.

Of course my bests are Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Spacey, Robert De Niro, you know.

I'm just not sure how good an actor Bruce Lee's corpse would be. Probably still better than Denise Richards, though.

There were a few actors I'd have really trusted to make good movies, but their filmography has been recently spoiled by one or two crappy movies.
I'm thinking of Michel Serrault and Benoit Poelvoorde. So far, I have never been disappointed by Audrey Tautou, but I haven't seen all of her movies however.

Edit: oh, I forgot Takeshi Kitano, which I love. However, his movies shine probably because of his direction more than of his acting.

I don't get this thing about Christopher Walken.

He's been the exact same character in every movie he's ever been in.

A quirky way of speaking does not make you a good actor.
