I can't fix this by pillaging the resource, since that causes the game to bomb.

Could someone suggest a workaround? Two that come to mind are 1) Andy sends his spare lux to the Maya or 2) we start a phony war to see if that breaks the lux flow.

This problem has been around for awhile. It hasn't mattered much to me before, but I would like to get it fixed now.

Of course, there is always the third alternative which generally shows up with computer problems I think are bugs: to wit, I don't know what's going on.

Do you have an "Active" option listed in the lower box on the diplo screen? This might be instance #3, but with PBEM diplo, you never know...

jshelr, if you wish to cancel our lux trade, then perhaps i could try from my side.

chaps sorry i've been a bit lacking on the diplo on this one lately during such an intense time. i've been in hospital with my 3 yr old since sunday, who is now thankfully recovering from a nasty case of tonsillitis.

i can't see my save for sabre in my outbox either, so may possibly have cocked that one up too.. re-sent just in case.

I'll be surprised if you can cancel the lux. The game is very confused about the spice lux. If I try to pillage it, the game bombs. Bad sign. And it's not listed in the active trades on my side but it is in the export box, as the pictures show. That confirms something is wrong with the situation, IMO.

With your help, my preference would be to get the trade cancelled and then re-establish it properly. If, as is likely, we can't do that, the next best idea from my point of view is to send me your spare lux.

If that isn't ok, then maybe we can use the phony war idea to get the game back in line. Send over your boat and i'll risk attacking it

It's no big deal. Sort of the same as having the lux move over to your lands.

I don't think you're a fool. I was just listing possible workaround methods that I can think of. Better ones would be eagerly embraced.

My caravel would likely be the one to sink. I could also attack a unit with a pikeman or something. I don't mind losing the unit if we can fix the lux situation.
