In the final quarterfinal match, the Sooners blank the Cardinals, 22-0.
However, in the semifinals, the Sooners were shocked by the Wolverines, 24-9.
Meanwhile, the Broncos eviscerated the Hokies, 29-3.
And the finals?
Hail to the victors, baby. Michigan defeats three straight undefeated teams and wins the 3rd Annual GGNCAACFT with a 23-6 victory over the Broncos.
Coming soon--the Drake Invitational.

Hey, Michigan was in it last year, and lost in the first round.
Just dumb luck. But I ain't complaining.

Notre Dame is looking at two NFL offensive coordinators: Weiss (Patriots) and Clements (Bills). Both are interesting to me, although I wonder how they will do with recruiting. Both have solid ND ties. I don't know too much about either.
The outgoing ND president really laid into the decision to fire Willingham. Interesting.

Associated Press
BOSTON - Notre Dame, seeking a successor to fired football coach Tyrone Willingham, has contacted the New England Patriots about interviewing offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, The Boston Globe reported Thursday.
It's "nothing that we would comment on," Patriots spokesman Stacey James said.
Former Notre Dame coach Tom Clements is scheduled to meet with Notre Dame officials Friday, a football source told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.
The Globe attributed the report on its Web site, Boston.com, to a source involved in the hiring process at Notre Dame and a source in the NFL with ties to Weis. The report said the school could interview Weis as early as Friday or Saturday.
Weis' agent, Bob LaMonte, told The Associated Press earlier Thursday that he had not heard from Notre Dame, saying he thought the school was focusing on Clements. A message seeking comment was left by the AP at LaMonte's office after the Globe posted the story on its Web site.
The AP also left a message seeking comment on the answering machine at Weis' home.
John Heisler, Notre Dame's associate athletic director, said Thursday the university would not comment.
The Patriots play at home Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Weis, who attended Notre Dame, but never played college football. Weis started as a high school coach in Morristown, N.J., then was hired as an assistant coach at South Carolina from 1985-88.
He joined the NFL in 1990 as a defensive assistant and assistant special teams coach with the New York Giants. He spent three seasons there, three as a Patriots assistant and three more as an assistant with the New York Jets.
When Bill Belichick became coach of the Patriots in 2000, he named Weis, 48, his offensive coordinator.
Weis was a candidate for several NFL head coaching jobs last season, but said coaching the Patriots to the Super Bowl hurt his chances of landing a job.
Clements, 51, played quarterback for the Irish under coach Ara Parseghian, leading the school to an undefeated season and a national championship in 1973. He also was an assistant at Notre Dame under coach Lou Holtz from 1992-95.
Clements is in his first season as offensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills. |
