um yea the morganites and the gians shouldn't really get along all that well..kind of differing philosophies. Suprised he even talked to you especially if you are running green economics (usually the best thing to do with the gians)

The Hive has refused to disband there scout Provost. They are asking for directions to leave our territory. Sigh it is as I feared. Inofrm them that if it is not removed in one year it will be destroyed. Our communication intercepts still confirm that they have not yet acheived ship construction correct? Yes provost they are still several years away from producing any. Sigh, so they want to remove themselves just away from our territory and watch us secretly well that can not be allowed. You have your orders. Yes provost.

Hive Report 2169
A dim light fills the room as the advisors finish entering the room and take their seats and the semi-circular table. Chairman Lazerus seated in the center of the flat edge while his advisors spread out amongst the circular circumference. Hive shadow guards stand to attention at perfect intervals around the room, more robot then human, the only movement which conveys they are infact something other then a piece of ornament being their menacing eyes constantly scanning for anything that might be perceived as a threat to the Chairmans safety. The 9 advisors well aware their performances in times like these ensure if they wake up the next day or they even manage to make it out of the room.
Kai-Lu - "Ground forces are assembled in the frontier base Chairman. Work will be carried out soon to upgrade several of the forces before they are sent to the front line. We estimate the first spartan base will fall within 2 years."
Shimoda - "I must say Chairman, these new technologies that Zheng Jian has acquired are quite unconventional, however my staff have managed to manipulate them to good effect producing blue prints for prototypes to increase our current military effectiveness."
Sheng-Lui - "Police reports show that drone activity is again picking up, we believe foreign saboteurs to be at work. Nerve staples are ineffective now on a portion of the population, however extra units have been drafted in the citizens have been quelled."
Zheng-Jian - "My thanks for the compliment on the work my agents are doing in extreme danger Shimoda. They are afterall making up for your somewhat lacking -- "
Chairman Lazerus - "Silence!"
Zheng-Jian - "I apologise Chairman"
Chairman Lazerus - " Continue with your reports"
Jong-Hui - "Chairman, as instructed the scout patrol encountered an accident on their way back to the shore, I do however regret your decision not to punish Provost Dacole for his insolence, the University style themselves as intellectual elites but they are no match for the Hive empire"
Chairman Lazerus - "I know, but for now we'll let them think over their mistake. They have pointed out that we lack the technology to construct ships, Zheng Jian will sort that out, but i'm content to look down on their little boats from the sky for now. Reports have also shown they still use primitive methods for collecting all valuable resources, we will outgrow them. Therefore Jong-Hui you are to cancel our offer of a treaty and refrain from further contact with the University until we are contacted by them."
The meeting drags on into what all assume to be the night, living underground obscures the senses and Chairman Lazerus' refusal to allow any staff other then himself a clock when in the meeting chamber helps with the psychological punishment that can be inflicted, turning an hour into a week if needed.

Various gases flowed through long winding tubes and liquids bubbled as the aid entered the provost's inner sanctum. "The scout has been disbanded provost" "Good, did he respond to our mention that we find his policies distasteful?" "He has removed his offer of a treaty Provost and no other communications have been forthcoming he did seem to mention that he has some captured ships from other factions and he belitteled our resource collection methods" "Hmm that is unexpected, he has better hmm well no matter we shall soon" "Redouble our exploration and find where he stations himself, refrain from contact unless nessecary" "How does our expansion proceed? Well provost though the size of our empire has started to make drone control more difficult." "Hmm thank you that is all" As the aid left the provost turned back to the graph he had been studying, "the gravitrons can't combine with the antimater that way the realtivistic effects would stop tim..the provost could be heard mubeling to himself as the aid left.

A gathering in the underground Gaian leadership council glen...
Arcainite had gathered his finest naturalists around him. His society was slowly organizing into a pyramid scheme like the food chain or any other pyramid scheme of nature...dog packs or chimpanzee hierarchies for example. But enough about the University and Hive. Now was time for business.
Arcainite: "Reports?"
Fir: "We have a problem on the homefront. Worms appeared too close to our formers and too far to be converted easily. We have the situation in hand though and the former is safe. The worm will convert or its husk harvesting time."
Oak: "As you know the Morgans have started to demand technology, but the eco-scanners indicate that they are not growing any mightier than they already are. Our forces can match them long enough to defeat them as our units evolve. Their colony pod is still holding onto the vain hope that we will let them push into lands marked for wildlife refuge and conservation programs. It is, of course, a mushroom dream."
Willow: "Thus far, he has not given us much to go on as far as contact with other factions. We will keep trying. Surely, there are better friends to be had out there somewhere than these ecologically inept industrialists!"
Arcainite: "Bend, Willow, bend. You must maintain your control. Do not break on me now. Spruce?"
Spruce: "City progress goes well. It is because of the recreation commons that Fir was able to send out a force to deal with the worms threatening our former. The other formers continue to work in peace, advancing our resource production in eco-friendly ways. We have installed causeways under our roads to allow the wormlings to cross beneath without being run over by troops or vehicles. Worm Crossing road signs have been paid for by our volunteer citizen program in areas where the elevation is too low."
Arcainite: "Excellent! Begin Operation Bunny Rabbit!"
