Chapter 3 – Christmas cocktail party
Nobody spoke about the deaths over breakfast. In fact, nobody spoke about anything. This Poly gathering that was supposed to be a joyous event was turning into a nightmare.
After breakfast Sheep invited everyone to vote again on who they think killed Paddy the Scot.
“This is obviously the work of a second murderer. Just like in our Poly mafia games”, Sheep said.
“I’m not so sure about that”, rah interjected. “Look, what we play at Poly isn’t real. In real life a killer will not always play by the rules.”
“But don’t you see the different MO? Well, never mind. You were never good at picking up clues and finding the mafia in our Poly games anyway. How can we expect you would be able to find one here”, Sheep replied to rah. Then he continued: “Let’s vote people.”
But he might not have insisted on voting so much if he had known the results of that voting beforehand. It was Sheep who received the most votes and who was dragged to the sea and drowned.

It was Christmas Eve and everybody was happy again, talking and laughing in the big Aussie suite sitting around the Christmas tree. Their host Skanky Burns prepared drinks for everyone. His talent in cocktail making really shined. Snowflake had Bloody Marry, Jon Miller took Yellow Daiquiri, Sandman took Dirty Martini shaken not stirred, joncha had Jamaican coffee, Jonny had Johnny Appleseed, resmark took Mexican Grasshopper, Sparrowhawk ordered Miami Vice, while the others settled for beer or bourbon. Ben Kenobi had a glass of wine.
Just after midnight they wanted to open their Christmas presents. –Jrabbit got a golf club from rah and rah got a new golf club from -Jrabbit. Everybody laughed at two funny Chicagoans.
Jon Miller got a brand new copy of Civilization II Multiplayer Gold CD. He wondered who the joker was. He also got Windows XP Professional 32-bit so that his games could work with his 64-bit CPU.
“I don’t really play many games these days”, Jon Miller wasn’t too happy about his presents. “And look at rah. He got what he needed.”
Rah laughed wholeheartedly.
“Like I need another golf club. Get real.”
Kassiopeia received Swedish dictionary, Hercules got a Sherlock Holmes cap, Spaced Cowboy got a pipe and Snowflake got an executive pen.
Joncha got Karl Marx’s Manifesto of the Communist Party from Ben Kenobi and Ben got the Millennium illustrated edition of the New Testament from joncha.
Nikolai got a new digital camera, Adagio got a Santa Clause costume, reismark got a new football (American football), Jonny got sunglasses, Whoha got a book on Buddhism DarkCloud got a pocket PC to organise his lists and Theben got an alarm clock. Tuberski received a set of tools and Sparrowhawk got Risk, the board game.
Most of them were pleased with their presents. Then the host opened his present. It was a new cocktail shaker. Skanky Burns was very happy and he prepared a new round of drinks for everybody. He himself was drinking a yellow cocktail someone else prepared for him.

In the morning when Skanky didn’t show for breakfast everybody suspected a severe case of hangover. After breakfast Spaced Cowboy went up to the Aussie suite to see what was going on. There he found Skanky Burns dead. He has suffered an anaphylactic shock and died as a result of papaya poisoning.
