@Dominae: AP will be unnecessary if you include enough bonus resources. This is especially true if you include extra whales, cows and gold...since these will more than make up for the lossed production/research of AP and should make everyone happy. This is additionally true if you ensure (with only 6 civs) that all 8 luxuries are represented!

I'm pretty sure I will be able to participate in this Demo game, even if I just lurk, (if that would be acceptable), I just need one more day to confer with conmcb25, and then I will be able to make a final decision. My apologies for the delay, as I have been busy as of late.

Dont know such things yet. Our team is discussing about team name (its not going to be current one which is snoopy's creation) and civ selection amongst current members. But discussion is difficult via only mail, and civ selecting method is not very clear to us which raises following questions =

Civ selections ? Do we get to choose or is it random ? No AGRI civs i hope ?

Cant really choose themes or strategies without knowing which civ we are going to play.

There will hopefully be private forums soon, actually. We're not playing yet so no play thread But it is likely to be like PTWDG1/2 in that we have private forums for each team plus a generic forum for the whole game that we all can see. MarkG has indicated support for this but not given me any direct feedback (well, not actually PMed me at all, but through Ming.)

Scaeva, please make sure you have several players on your team. I will probably assign to you most of the unclassified players, if they are willing anywho, to beef up your team (Aqualung, you may want to recruit a few more too )...

Unclassifieds, I recommend contacting one of those two people, Aqualung and Scaeva, as they have the most room in their teams (ie need for extra players). The rest of us are happy to take extra players, but I do want to see 6 evenly distributed teams ...

Oh, and Team Snoopy (who is close to getting a real, non-self congratulary name) is happy to welcome a trio of standout players: Andydog (who's a probable, anywho), Wittlich, and Platypus Rex to the squad. We now feel prepared to take all of you down! (Assuming nobody gets Alexman to join their team anywho ... )

A more thorough reading of this makes me wonder if you really want to head up a team ... a lurker is not a team leader. If you are able to bring together a team, then I'll keep your spot open - but we have plenty of lurkers already, and a few active-ish people who could start a team themselves ...

actually this seems more like a professiona @$$-kickers contest here and I aint quite ready

I will play if needed I was under impression a demo game was not a war game but merely a game of political intrigue and positioning through peaceful means

DG is ... both. It ends up in massive world war more often than not - at least more often than normal PBEMs. The diplomatic intrigue ends up causing alliances to form more readily, and those mean than when one civ is ready to go to war, pretty much everyone is involved, or at least more than just 2 civs (from my admittedly short experience - can anyone else elaborate?)

The point from my post anywho was that they need someone active - that's the most important part, someone to get other people to talk, otherwise it's not a DG but just a PBEM ...
