Green is not threatened by anything.

I say, Gold/Orange and name it North Ishtar. It will need to be defended as it is not only a border but soon to be on the DR front.

Or, Pink/Purple near Treacle Mine Road. Again this will need defenses. Look here for naming ideas.

I seem to be confused. So sorry. That's our border with AM not DR.

I still like the sites listed above.

Move Green 2 from where it's at Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

Green should get moved south 1 tile from the picture (move 2). The reasoning:

1) settling in the Turdra allows us to use it as any normal City Center.

2) Would give it 2 more Hills to possibly work.

3) the 2 Tundra Forrest can be worked without a temple and 1 more with. [EDIT] The other way, you only can 2 of them and it would need a temple to just access them.[/edit]

4) slightly less crowding of Hookah, GoT and Babylon.

5) Still on the Coast. Can work 2 more coastal tiles this way (6 total).

Gold City & Incense Support Apolyton, buy GURPS/ Alpha Centauri

Gold site looks good where it's pictured (9-9-9-9 of Felinicity). If we move it 9, we Settle on the only FP that is there, so we would loose the extra food. Plus, those 2 games that are there are on Plains Forrest, so if they are chopped, they still get 3 food and if we Irrigate them, then only 1 shield.

I also think that we should go for those Incense or someone else will. The city should be at either:

Option 1: 8-8-8 of Lake Ishtar.
Immediate access to Flood Plains and Forrested game. It would allow the use of the 2 Game tiles by both it and the GoldOrange city, without GoldOrange having a Temple. Also allow use of a Second FP with a Temple and more Grassland (after chopping). The downside is that it's slightly closer to BoH.

Option 2: 8-8-9 of Lake Ishtar. Less Food, especially without a Temple. Slightly "more secure" from BoH as it's further in the Hills (but with a UU that crosses Hills & Mountains like Grassland....). And I would at least rather them not seige camped in hills compaired to Grassland. Less Mutual tiles without Temple with GoldOrange city.

Yes, there is. SE of Iron has a Gold dot. Of course, all of our lands have been blessed with Inanna's Golden Touch, so it's quite hard to spot.

Green site: moving it S is fine (although we'd have a bit more corruption).

Red site: of course, the city has been established already.

Orange site (NEx4 of Felinicity): it seems the only logical candidate in that area.

Well, it looked like grasslad to me, somewhat (see attached picture for a blowup - I did see it after using Coreldraw to blow it up double). And truthfully, now that I look at it, it looks like it's Green (a dark green - I hate the stock tiles and love Snoopy's versions better)

quote:

Green site: moving it S is fine (although we'd have a bit more corruption).

The Corruption is based on 2 separate (andnot equal) components: Distance and Rank. The Distance will increase a little but, but overall not very much. As the Rank part has really the most effect on the corruption factor, it in this case won't change because of the current distance & Rank Configurations that are already present. No Matter what, it WILL effect the outer Cities as their Rank WILL go up, but that's o.k.
quote:
from Alexman's Corruption thread
If several cities have the same distance to the capital, they are ranked in order of founding, and if they also have the same date of founding, they are ranked by their order in the database.

This will be the last of out INNER Core and the way that C3C figures the Rank, it would still be the same, even if if it was the same difference in distance as the other cities.

See Alexman's Everything about Corruption: C3C edition thread for mor info as to how things work.

Get a bigger avatar today!

I use Snoopy's terrain, so you can look at the screenshots I take.

If you like it, you should be able to find most of the terrain in your PTW scenarios folder, unless you don't have an install including PTW anymore. (Conquests installs the PTW program but not all the scenarios and mods that came with it.) For Conquests you'll also need the terrain update for it that he did, which is somewhere in the Files forum here.

If the arrow is pointing to the tile I think it is, it's a bad city spot. One tile away from a free aquaduct

It's also probably too far out for a temp city / camp.

That green? I thought that was olive drab or a problem with the map. The green I spoke of was way south near Hooka.

Here are my picks. The Orange one on the north shore of Lake Ishtar.

The Pink near AM's Treacle city.

OK - got Snoopy's Terrain now.

Also put a nice little red border around all of the colours. This should distinguish the olive drab from the city locations.

The gold city has two alternatives now (the small circles next to it).

Going for the Incense Support Apolyton, buy Civilization: The Boardgame

I think that we need to look at going for the Incense. I have 2 spots that I'm looking at, but these are the two of them

7 of our Horse in that picture is the Primary (1 of hills Incense)

and where the Horse is is the secondary (1 of desert Incense).

And I think that we should go witn the next settler and get it soonest.

Here is a timeline of events, if we go to it first (turn 1 is next turn, 1350BC):

1 - Settler #1 built in PoA, moves on road towards IT.
2 - Settler #1 moved to 2 of IT
3 - Settler #1 in IT
4 - Settler #1 moves to IT 8
5 - Settler #1 moves to IT 8-8
6 - Settler #2 built in PoA, moves 8-8-8 (to Fel 9-9, headed to North Ishtar). Settler #1 at Incense site.
7 - Settler #2 moves 9. Settler #1 builts city next to Incense.
8 - Settler #2 moves 9, at North Ishtar Site.
9 - Settler #2 builts North Ishtar.

This will establish our Northern border entirely and gets us the Incense the soonest. The Green site can wait a few more settler builds. After these, I suggest that the Iron city come next (with green the 4th settler built).

OK. Go for the double incense at Lake Ishtar +889, right where Marcus the horseman is now(1350BC); and name it "Mine!"

Maybe Marcus needs to stay there. This new city will need to be defended.

If we are attacked by BoH, with their UU, it won't really matter if we have Hills surrounding it, as they can move on hills like on Flatland. 8-8-8 is my choice (see a previous post of mine for more details).

[EDIT]

Ummm, there isn't a River there.

And to throw a wrench into the works for both the one Incense site and the North Ishtar site, AM has built a city that is 2 tiles from both of them. If we settler them, it will be war.

I believe we still have an incense site that captures both which does not have such bad overlap of initial rings, though the outer rings would still be in conflict.

Then the outer rings will be in conflict. Maybe we bring our troops home after striking a deal with DR - or once they are victorious against DR.

The one thing we seem to agree on in the double incense site. Let's do it.

If we are doing the incense site - then it looks like 8-8-9 of Lake Ishtar, or we go 8-8-8 and fight it out with AM culturally. This would work well with a city 9-9-9-9 of Felinicty - a couple of temples, and a couple of libraries.

Or - may I humbly inquire as to whether it makes better sense not to have a city extended that far into the centre of the continent. It will be a b!tch to defend, a clear first target from any number of our neighbours - and corrupt to boot. Is the incense worth it? Will having a city in the centre have strategic value in excess of the bulls-eye painted on it. And would we better off building adding more southern and western cities to our layout?
