While technically correct, that was his speed at the end of the last turn. I don't look at the max speed until the beginning of the next turn. He will not be allowed to stay constant in terms of speed. He will need a B at the beginning of his orders.

While it doesn't matter this turn, this could cause some problems later as if I had needed a brake at the end of the upcoming turn, to both avoid the oil spill ahead of me and to brake would require the use of two wild cards (one to avoid the oil spill and one to slow down). It seems extreme to have to use two wildcards as a result of a crash.

I knew I didn't need them as some Cowboy cut me off and reduced my speed enough that I won't be seeing any sand for at least a turn

(and Ramsey is somewhere behind me, I won't be watching for sand ahead as I need to worry about him hitting me (again ) more then I do the sand).

Believe it or not, I actually thought of that senario. I figured it wouldn't happen very often, and wouldn't make much difference when it did. But I'll rethink it.

The GM reserves the right to tweek this if he believes necessary.

But with no speed loss, crashes aren't as penalized as before. Unless you get into a lot of crashes and dimish your top speed too much.

Max speed and WCs can be replenshed. Lost speed can not be.

I don't think it is actually a "fumble". I think it is a famous quote (like a Yogi Bera type of thing, changing the actual line of "I resent that" to "I resemble that") but I don't know who originally said it.

Ah. Some googling reveals that it's a rather old way to say the very opposite of "I resent that remark".

I can't find anything more on its origins, because most search results are just people "correcting" other people that it's supposed to be "resent", not "resemble".
