	Let's talk about European antisemitism Put an end to popups!

It seems Europe is often considered as an antisemitic continent by many Israelis, and to a lower extent, by many Americans. There seems to be a prejudice against Europeans, that they are antisemitic. Of course, this prejudice has for consequence that European diplomacy in the Middle East is often viewed with distrust by Israelis and by Americans.

I'd like we discuss this topic. I honestly don't know what makes Europe antisemitic, and I think discussing with you people from abroad will help me etter understand your views. Just like I hope your discussing with Euros will help better understand our views

Well, Europe takes an Anti-Zionist approach to every issue regarding Israel, and that certainly doesn't help. And neither does the growing Arabic population in Europe either.

I've never viewed Europe as a continent to be antisemitic. Some countries seem more antisemitic than others. Poland seems pretty damn antisemitic, while the UK doesn't seem antisemitic much, for instance.

That said, I think that the Israel-Palestine conflict has been a cover for a lot of antisemitic undercurrents.

Europe is a very large area, is there a place more specific we are talking about. I can say being american that most people here are so stuck to the light that they are superior to others. I am assuming that folks consider you this because of hitler and his actions

Was the government of Israel genuinely sorry for risking the endangernent of travelling New Zealanders?

My arse they were... they acted as if it was somehow their right to come to our country and take advantage of us for their own ends.

Why is antisemitism singled out from just plain racism? And "reverse racism" isn't separate from any other sort of racism either. I don't think Scandinavia is very antisemitic. The Q word was very much an exception. I have a lot of respect for Europe. I wouldn't mind living there if I had the opportunity. You guys are much better educated (who isn't) and you tend to be more interested in things I am interested in than my fellow Americans, like linguistics. I'm not aware of a whole lot of any sort of racism in Europe. If you are antizionist, you are against the interests of Judaism. Israel's current actions aren't too great, but the land is rightfully theirs. Israel does not need to be aggressive. All will be as it should be eventually.

Stealing other people's land? The UN was the one who created Israel. If you are saying Israel doesn't have the right to exist, I think that borders anti-semitism.

It's familiar piece of propaganda put out by right-wing Americans (and to a lesser extent, by Israelis). As propaganda goes, it's good, but not great.

The juxtaposition of Europe's 'old' anti-semitism with the influx of presumably antisemitic Muslims doesn't really hold water. And the statistics used to prop up the claims are usually very weak.

A majority of Jews live in the US now. Very few live in Europe. I can only assume that many European countries have been relatively unwelcoming to Jews up to this point.

'Scuse me, I think the Arab-Israeli conflict is so deep-rooted and complex that we'll never figure it out entirely, that we should judge the current actions of individuals and not the broad historical contexts used to justify them, and that there is probably no easy solution to it. Oh, and neither one is entirely blameless, and as far as anyone can tell some portion of the Western world is at fault too for using both peoples as tools in colonial games. Am I an antisemite, or not?
