I didn't care about her when she was "alive," and I don't care about her now that she's dead. I'm a little glad that she's finally (officially) dead, as the long national soap opera is finally over. Now the media can focus on Jacko again.

I just hope that, if I ever suffer severe brain damage, someone will be kind enough to end my life. I don't care if my brain stem is still functioning, I don't even care if I'm still able to communicate on some crude, basic level. I don't want to be remembered as an incontinent, brain damaged shell of a man (yes, I realize that, with that statement, I've left myself open to the classic "how would that be any different than you are now?" joke)

I'm not a big fan of the state paying to keep this person alive. That's worse than being paralyzed. That's worse than Stephen Hawking. At least Stephen Hawking can communicate with the outside world and still maintain and create theories.

Yeah, if you go back to Germany in the '30s and compare what they said at the time to what the likes of Jeff Vigers (sp) says today, the rationale about burden to society, quality of life, etc., are almost identical.

The other night on Scarborough, one of the guests said that what was happening to Terri was what the Nazi's did to prisoners in the death camps, starve them to death. The other panelists errupted in loud and continuing screaming, denoucing the so-called hypocrisy of the Republicans, but never addressing the core issue of whether what was happening to Terri was the same or different that what happened in the death camps. At one point, Catherine Crier exclaimed that you must think that we want Terri to die? Buchanan responded, then why don't you just give her a little water?
