Greetings Great Leaders of The Horde!!

Chief Chrisius, the Great Leader of the Blood Cell, has charged me with the positions of:

AMBASSADOR TO BABYLON, and

AMBASSADOR TO ANK-MORPORK

This thread is to keep all informed of the latest developments with these two important nations in our world, AND for you to put your input in.

The Two Posts below will contain summaries of current thoughts and negotiations with each nation. The Khan and the Chief have asked that all chats be posted as well in the appropriate team thread. They will be posted as they occur and the summaries updated.

LONG TERM PLANNING

April 13

With the destruction of the Porkers, The diplomatic focus will shift to Desolation Row. In order to gain a decisive advantage here, we will need all the efforts of the Blood Cell.

The first effect of the Porker war will be to leave aqua without a firm ally. It is important that he be diplomatically isolated. It is my belief that Lost Boys may be a key here.

SUMMARY OF ANK-MORPORK, AKA THE PIGS!

Status as of April 3:

The Blood Cell has been working hard to develop a strategy that will ensure the swift and certain demise of the pig menace to the south. The current strategy is:

1.) To utilize a change in Ambassadors to their nation to our advantage by offering a new era of friendship and co-operation. Ambassador Ljube has laid fantastic groundwork for this change in tactics coinciding with a change in Ambassadors. This offer is, of course, a ruse to gain their confidence.

2.) Trade some techs for cash. We will make the initial offering of writing, as the proliferation of this tech has diminished its overall value.

3.) We will try to use the common menace of aqua to get them to draw troops away from their center to guard the southern approaches to both our lands. This will hopefully make our attack go smoother.

Status as of April 5:

Contact has been made with ormuzd. My read is that he wishes friendship. If that is not possible, then he wishes "honorable" destruction...i.e. he will fight the good fight.

I believe that he has made better war preperations than we believed previously. he has made it clear that he feels "well defended"

Through the investigative work of the Khan, we know that he has traded for writing and believe that it was with DR.

To summarize: Objective 1 is well on its way to being achieved. Objective 2 is currently on hold as the pigs have acquired writing and we do not wish to sell literature at this point. Objective 3 is in question as DR is the likely provider of tech and the full depths of that relation are unknown.

Conclusion: further probing is required. Objective 1 should proceed on track.

Status as of April 8

Porkers are interested in Tech trade, boarder treaty, and possibly setting up "early warning system".

Objective 1 appears to be accomplished.
Objective 2 is possible whenever we find a tech we want to trade them.
Objective 3 looks likely. They are discussing my proposal.

SUMMARY OF BABYLON

In coming conflicts the Babs may be a wild card. The thrust of our diplomacy at this point will be to:

1.) Create an environment of trust and co-operation.

2.) Explore their relations with other nations.

3.) Float the idea of possible tech deals without offering anything firm.

The wildcard statement from the pigs is that our conscript is in danger. I am taking this to mean they must be having hut/barb camp problems...

This could be a really big bonus for us...maybe we should not disband the barb camp that is near them?
