DUH: Kobe Really Wasn't That Good, SHAQ is the MAN Increase the size of your Attachments

Well, it's pretty much been proven that the Los Angeles Lakers made the dumbest move in the history of basketball. They let the greatest coach and the greatest player go last year.

Instead, they decided to make a desparate move and woo Kobe Bryant. The man had plenty of troubles off the court and his oncourt prowess is nothing legendary. There are 10 other guards in this league that are just as good, if not better, than Kobe. LaBron James for example, PWNZ Kobe Bryant.

Kobe always wanted the Lakers to be HIS team, he thought he was the true leader and was always jealous of Shaq. But now the anwer is clear.

For the first time in 11 years, the Lakers have failed to make the playoffs.

The Miami Heat, on the other hand, under Shaq's leadership, have the second best record in the league.

I am proud of Shaq.

Kobe needs to take his humble pie and eat it.

Naw, I take that back. You're right. At least with Bowie/Jordan you can argue that you really can't predict the future. But the LA LaKobe's actually did have the benefit of hindsight - the LaKobe's knew that Jackson+Shaq+Kobe+Teamwork=Championship, and probably could have led the once-Lakers to a minimum of five more championships.

I stand corrected. The dismantling of the Lakers into the LaKobe's was the dumbest move in professional basketball, and might even be the worst personnel decision in the history of major American sports.

I tried to pick a favorite HEAT dancer but they are all too pretty.

On the basketball front, I'd like to see Phil Jackson go to Minnesota or Miami, or even Houston. He's been seen at the recent Lakers games so there is alot of speculation.

I think he will be coaching again next season.

If they had made some good trading moves, I think it was possible.

The supporting cast on the Lakers was too thin. Shaq was carrying the entire burden. Kobe had flashes at times but it simply wasn't enough. They needed a third option.

But the other problem (in my opinon) was Kobe, who kept insisting to be the leader of the team.

It's how they won the first three, though it is true that by the third the "teamwork" aspect was almost dead.

Yeah, the thing I like about these 3 teams is each of them has a dominant big man plus a perimeter slasher scorer.

Minnesota : Kevin Garnett, Wally Scerzback, Sam Cassel and Latrell

Houston: Yao Ming, Tracey McGrady, plus Bob Sura, and David Wesley

Miami: Shaq, Dwayne Wade, and Eddie Jones

they did a little more than just make the plaoffs. My memory is a bit hazy, but I believe they went to the finals twice. They lost, but at least they made it that far.

Going to the finals and losing isn't a sign of greatness. Utah Jazz ring a bell?

They also went to the Finals the two years that Jordan "retired" the first time.

The second problem is the lack of teamwork that overcame the Lakers in their last two seasons.

I have no idea what Tuberski's going on about, as the Lakers were a team, especially the 2000 & 2001 versions. The lost of that team spirit can largely, mostly be attributed to Kobe Bryant.

I wonder how things would've turned out had Jerry West stayed...
