Actually this happened to me the other day. A girl stopped performing a sex act on me to answer her phone, because she was expecting an important call from her boss.

I'd probably stop sex to answer my phone. However good the sex is, I'm terrified that if I don't answer my phone it'll be an important call. It's happened before from both ends, that i've tried to call someone and they've not answered or missed a call that was hideously important. It's not about being more exciting about sex, it's that the phone call might be more important.

Besides, it's an opportunity to tease someone, so it's not like you don't have sex because of the phone call.

This is the only good thing out of a phone call. It can be fun beyond belief to perfom a sex act on someone that is trying to keep a coherent conversation going.

As for my family, generally we use call display and screen. If we don't know who you are, we never answer anyway. In more intimate times we just ignore the phone. If its important they will leave a message.

despicable. I'd break up with any chick who interrupt sex with me. If she can't wait the 30 seconds it takes me to finish, she's not worth it.

I'd probably interrupt just because of my unfortunate experience in the past. Much of the time when I leave a class unanswered (which is rarely), it turns out the call was important. Now I'm often afraid to risk.

See -- I hate this idea that we have to be accessible and reachable at every moment . . .

I guess one "solution" would be to have sex only very late or very early when any call should be a bona fide emergency . . . its just that that would seem so limiting

Why? I hate it when my mobile is off the network or MSN won't sign in. If I'm connected, I'm in contact with people and that usually means good stuff.

cell phones are nice enough to show you missed calls, and they have voice mail.

There is never a need to answer a cell phone.

When a reply is needed instantly, or in the case of an emergency, a message service doesn't work. Moreover, the choice is between answering the phone call and delaying sex, it's not like it would involve not having it. I've got no problem delaying sex for 30 seconds so I can take a phone call.

I think we differ fundamentally, as you see being always contactable as a bad thing, and I see it as a necessity - I *hate* being uncontactable, so I try to always make sure I am. Though I managed remarkably well in Salzburg being out of service area

Family member's had an accident, someone's about to make a large bet, a friend's just broken up with their partner and needs not to feel ignored, etc.

If the purpose of the call is to inform you of something non-urgent, a message is fine. If it's urgent, or if a response is needed, it isn't.

See, calls mean urgency. If something wasn't urgent, they'd send me a text message and I never interrupt sex for those.

An interesting philosophy. Maybe I should just use the cell phone as an answering machine and not waste my time and money by calling on it .

Full PM-box? Change here!

I get/send on average 7-15 text messages a day. I get/make an actual phone call probably twice a month. They're rare enough to mean something needs addressing.

How did you ever get by without one before you had cell phones.

It's an insult to answer cell phones on dates and especially during sex.

Put an end to popups!

The best solution, obviously, is to turn your mobile's sound off during sex or put if far away where you can't hear it - you won't be tempted to answer.

How many of you guys go on dates where a woman interrupts the date to gab on a phone from an incoming phone call? I wouldn't put up with it, (actually I probably would- because I'm desperate ).

I really wouldn't know, as I haven't been on an actual date since before cell phones became popular.

But when a woman is more interested to talking whoever is on the cell phone, than you. Then there's a problem.

The same can be said about sex. How do you think your girlfriend will feel if you interrupt her to take a call?

I wouldn't even respond to a fire/smoke alarm during sex. As I don't know when the next time I'll be able to have sex will be. .

Do people actually still use their phones to make phone calls? I use mine mainly for text messages and taking photos. Phoning is so quaint.

text messages are so lame. Why message when you can just call the person?

It kills me they keep putting all these PDA functions on cell phones when they still can't perfect their intended use. Making phone calls. You still get bad connections everywhere you go.

Cause texting avoids the very problem this thread is about. Texting is leaving someone a message for them to get back to.

Got spare money?

KrazyHorse must be pretty pathetic in bed if a woman talked on the phone while they did it.
