Captain's Log:
There will be no Captain's logs, as the crew can no longer dismiss the complicity of Benjamin Sisko in the death of the Kai. While I agree with much of his assessment of her, such a death must be punished to the full measure of the law.
The station will be under my control, as the second officer, and Sisko will be taken to the brig. But first, to assure the people that action is being taken against the murderer, I rescinded the lockdown order, and let everyone see Sisko before we locked him in the brig. Yes, given the prior shootings by the mob, we first searched for blasters, but either the searcher deliberately missed one, or one was concealed that we could not see, and they shot Sisko as soon as we announced his arrest, and brought him forth.
At this point I am at a loss, with no recourse but to lock all the suspects together in Quark's bar so that any death will be immediately noticed, and the killer may be found. Odo is due the credit for this very worthy suggestion. As I am among those suspected, I must also bear the same scrutiny.

Julian offered to write this report as he felt he could give a less inflammatory account, but I shall attempt to keep my emotions under control for the duration.
Accepting Odo's suggestion has backfired. Shakaar is dead. We had all been drinking in what used to be Quark's bar, when he collapsed suddenly at the dabo table. The quick analysis of his glass was that it was poisoned, much as the Kai had been poisoned, thus confirming the innocence of the Emissary.
So I am twice guilty, of the death of the Emissary, and the death of one I love dearly through my negligence. While the Emissary slowly grew to accept his role, who knows how the Prophets work on those who meet them?
Whoever has the poison must have it concealed on their person, and so Odo will now search everyone for anything that may have been missed. At least now, when we find the poison, we will have the person responsible.
