The police can do that in order to keep the public peace. Also, considering he was already leaving, the police woldn't have been forcing him to leave.

According to the police report (I provided a link), he ran back to his seat among the wildly screaming anarchists and sat down. At that point, fascists from the front began a counter-riot and began moving to the rear. What happened next is unclear. He could have bolted to the door to escape as the cops or the fascists approached.

im not sure but that it is said he was being escorted to the door and then started to shout obscenties causing a disturbance for people around him then started the obscene jestures. that is disordely conduct which got him thrown to the ground and arrested. had he just walked out peacefully the kid would not have been arrested. Got a friend at the college that was there that said he was acting like a jerk. and was only being escorted out of the audioturiom and would have been fine had he not acted as he did on his way to the door.
