Well I don't agree because I would be a deity if Off topic posts counted.

Certainly more than 40 deities, because you have to remember that all the ontopicers would have their stats boosted.

There would certainly be hundreds. 10,000 is a lot of posts, but most OT regulars have between 2 and 5 thousand on-topic posts as well. It would be trivial for them to have gotten the other 5 to 8 thousand posts just from the OT. 125,000 posts supplementing people's on-topic post count would lead to many over 10,000.

If Civ3 had been worth my while I'd be a Deity by now. Since it sucked I took a year off 'Poly in absolute disgust and Civ3List burnout. On my return the anemic Civ2 forums made my posting more sparse (damn the barbarians!).

I meant "hundreds" as in "at least one hundred", not that I would outright discount there being over 200 by now. It would be a stretch though.

Don't forget that there are untold thousands of OT posts in the archive that would have contributed towards people's post counts if included.

Yeah there are a lot. But are there a 179 people who have made enough to be deity that aren't deity already? You need to post very heavily for at least 18 months (unless you really push the boat out a la Mao or Paddy) or heavily for over 2 years, as most have.

Even if Skanky changes his statement to 100, as he has above (not sure how hundreds = 100 ) it's still tight.
