I'd gather that the following would probably be deities (not 79, but a start)

thats roughly 1400 days at only 5 posts per day thats 7000 posts

so any emporers posting in ot would be deitys

if some ot posters were spammers then 10 or more posts per day would be over 14000 so any could be deity

most of the current deitys have posted at times at over 30 -50 per day so nothing to post at only 10

Thanks DC, I was going to do a similar list yesterday but was busy at the office... and looking at your list, I could probably come up with another 40 - 50 OTF posters that you left out. Hell, I would have more than 40,000 posts if the OT posts still counted

Behind that "turn sent" comment is the time to play the turn, often engage in diplomacy, and do some thinking about strategy. PBEM's are, IMHO, a strong backbone to the civ3 activity on Apolyton.

I have reached deity in about two and a half years. My level of involvement is pretty constant - and has been 99.9% in the civ3 forum - demo games, PBEM's, some AU, and some civ3 general stuff. In other words, lots of civin.

you are not right. I'd probably have 30,000 posts if posts counted.

and while some people do consider me a spammer, I don't post in every thread in the off topic. I don't even post in half of them. 1/4 at best. There are many posters that post more than I do. Mr. Fun, Pekka, the list goes on and on.

A PCR would definitely hurt more than a custom title

Not that I care much about my own post-count anyway. It was OK getting past "settler" of course but apart from that, the custom-avatar limit was the only one I cared about.

I know a lot of posters who have posted heavily enough for a short period, or post for a long period but not heavily enough, but are there really 79 (and definitely not 179) who post heavily enough for a long enough period of time to be deity? The only attempt at a list was woefully short.

No you wouldn't, but it's irrelevant anyway. You'd have enough to be Deity. That makes 1 regardless of whether you'd have 10,000 posts or 10 Million posts.
