MrMitchell-
The biggest buildings are the ones on the front of the box the game came in.

Thanks for the website plug :b

Maq-
It's the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, built for a World's Fair about 100 years ago and now housing a science museum.

The Resort Hotel is the Claremont Hotel across the bay in Berkeley. The scale of the building is way off, looking at the size of the windows, it should be twice the size.

Yeah i thought that even not knowing what its modelled on, just way too small.

On the game, i may start a new city in the small section of coast above my city to make it fit better, and later perhaps work my way along the top coast.

Speaking of starting new cities, I just remembered:

I built a ferry along the very little ocean-access coast that El Dorado has (up in the extreme northern corner tip of the map), thinking, people will commute from El Dorado to the Trinity Islands using that ferry and one of his, yes?

Well, it turns out there's a whole (small) map tile between our cities and I think why they don't commute is because of that map tile getting in the way and not being played. Would it be appropriate to play it out just for five years and see if the people will start commuting?

Sure why not, we've got plenty of mini-tiles for future players anyway.

http://apolyton.net/upload/view.php...tDimgulch55.rar

Port Dimgulch buys water, power and exports all its garbage to Fray Bentos, this costs a lot so industry isnt cheap around The Port, only high-tech is accepted, taxed at reasonable 15%.

The city is already finished, i thought about adding a second seaport but id have to raise taxes even higher, and i didnt really want to.

If mrmitchell can make some connections I can hook them up, but i didnt see any already there so i couldnt.

Ive also updated Fray Bentos (without running it) with a new power plant for the port, so the deals were correct. Ive uploaded the new one below. Import both before you load either.

On the East Side, on the other hand, displaced heavy industry is finding a new home in an industrial park near the incinerator. A token windmill is frequently featured in publicity brochures that tout the supposed environmental friendliness of the facility.

Transportation system is still working well, with trains packed at all hours. One of these days the train system is going to be moved underground... One of these days.

Is there some way to view only government buildings? It's hard to find all the infrastructure behind the tall apartments and offices.

Updated Fray Bentos again to fix garbage deal with Windydown. Both below.

While commerce still remains stagnant ,industry and residents are growing.

That big belching incinerator was relocated to somewhere deep in the woods. Philosophers at the new Disease Research Center ponder the question, if garbage burns in the forest, and there's no one around, does it make a smell?

The former trash area has now been converted into a sprawling lab, along with some highrise housing.
