"because they are not culturally european" - not christian, not white in other..."
Euros are strange. Sometimes I think they are good people who are not racist, but if a Turk moves in next door...
Not all of course.

It's all that european identity BS. You have to be centre european tee drinker and tofu bastard to be allowed in that elitist category of socialist dreaming with absolutely no realistical backround, because the socialistic dream crumbles down when people from Turkey drive in for the free cheque, and when the wrong coloured people start doing under the minimum wage, paying no taxes and forming ghettoes slowly, that's when the pinky lifting EURONITE wants to move out of the neighbourhood into the new posh one, built just for white people, where they can feel internationalists and sing party songs and wonder how the normal people turned out to be so xenophobic, the common european identity turned out to be rich white people, watching Eurovision on TV and having a bit of circle jerk while crying why people don't truly understand Marx, if everyone was just like them it would work out, but the bastard aren't, because they don't want to, because Hollywood has corrupted their minds and give them a dream of living it like famous people which isn't the reality, but it's their fault of having that dream.
What the pinky lefting beard fondling leftie Euronites should realize is, that most people don't give a **** but are like folks in Finland. You can go and get agreement from people who you want to hear, turn blind eye on others, they're not thinking the same, they must be either stupid or doing it on purpose, either way it doesn't matter because they are not us, they're not the same as us, but the reality is, most people in here are exactly like this:

Here's your average citizen, and then the idealists think these people actually give a **** about you, your ideas or dreams. Don't look European? Too bad for you. They aren't worse than the rest, they are the average. Euronits are just white trash with an ego and no realism in them, must of been all the chemicals during the 60s while their dads peed a little while making their babies.

"You don't understand! Capitalism Satans! Socialim Socialism ho ho ho. Look it got me this cool hat, it can give things to all of us, sick, the poor.. the money will come out of my skills and work. I can read books, but not good at history books. Support brothers and sisters all over the world, from Columbian guerillas to Cuba, they got nice weather because they have socialists! When you have nice weather, you don't need anything else! I am a realist, numbers are not my best attribute but I was good in philosophy, the field of life and we all live, right? Listen to my old and young, come on to my club house and you can see the address in the flyers, don't come before 7PM because I am getting tested for hepatitis. OH and it would be FREE if we were socialists, now I have to give up my book budget and I can't afford the trip to my socialist friends in california. I don't have the funds but I have the brainssSsss!"

Yaeh I have to agree with bebro here, racism has bad connotation in here. Well, the holocaust, duh? I think the ultimate racism was the whole arayan think. At least KKK accepts all whites. Nazis didn't even accept all whites. They had more strict rules about those race things.
There was slavery in Europe as well. I mean kind of. Europe was more colonialist bastard than anyone else. It wasn't too long ago when colonialists had to put people back into their places wiht guns and whips because they didn't like being submitted like that. Well, then Europe kind of pressured itself, and realized we can't kill all Algerians etc, and Asian people either. Besides those Asians started fighting, couldn't keep them places now could we. Indochina was a mother****er. And many other cases as well. It's a good thing we favoured some group of the people and let them submit other grops of their own people even more, so when we left places, there were power vacuums and lol, lots of **** happened and still happens.
But of course, we must stay in form, US is the bastard. They had Vietnam. After us. So we were smarter, like with few years advantage. We will hold on to it.

Seriously, de Villepin is a terrible choice of a Prime Minister for two reasons:
1. He has NEVER faced suffrage. He has never been elected. It's because of his open love for "high politics", and his dislike of dirtying his hands in elections. As a result, he's unlikely to be humble toward the sovereign people, and the regime's popularity will further go down the drain.
2. He is in the Gaullian tradition of believing in France's status as a "special" country. Heck, I've just heard one of his recent speeches where he said "Go to the other end of the world, in the far Asia, and say you're French. You'll see the eye of the other sparkle with more stars than there are on the European flag"
The image of Europe has considerably suffered from the French arrogance, and only arrogance can come from such a general attitude, even if the holder of these beliefs is well-intended.
Edit: found the original quote: "Allez au bout du monde, en extrême Asie, et dites que vous êtes français. Vous verrez le visage de votre interlocuteur pétiller de bien plus d'étoiles qu'il n'y en a dans le drapeau européen!"

Well it would appear that the Non had better spin than the Oui. Let's face it, there's probably about eight people in the whole of France who read the whole thing (despite everyone getting a free copy from the government delivered to their door).
I haven't read it either, but I bloody plan to if Mr Tony Blair ever gets round to inviting us to vote on it. (We'll reject it too by the way, I'll tell you that now without having read it, or without anyone having read it). |
I reckon so too.
Still all a 'no' vote achieves is a re-think/re-write by the politicians. I think they really need to address the whole moving power away to brussels thing. No one likes the idea of politicians from another(culturaly different) country deciding on too many important and local things for them.
Imho i think we are a long way from building any sort of US of Euro zone, too much history and pride in individuality(which can be a good thing when not high jacked by far left/right politics).
All that i've heard about this constitution so far has made me feel like i'd vote 'no' when given the option. I think we can and should build a stronger united europe - just not under many of the proposals decided so far.
