I think the nuke the world option is the best one..... it is as you said, the only option for freedom. Living as cattle, is not a life-we could survive in a nuclear wasteland, just a very small population.

I think in any attack the first thing any alien power would do is dissable all our nukes..... they are the biggest threat and if they did any intelligence retrieval they'd know we are ####ing crazy and would use em.... heck the overall attitude on this thread seems to be to nuke the planet ourselves..... think the aliens are watching this thread? Think they've seen independance day when fox put it on network T.V. and the scene where they suggested nuking the planet?

Lancer this was not only a plot in independance day but ALSO the outer limits(old AND "new") as well as the twilight zone....... I can think of a dozen different books with the same theme(my favorite one being "The Alien Years"-forgot author).
This is not a new idea, it is at least 50 years old.
