I can relate. I am struggling to keep my civ interest up as well. But I am leaving for two weeks hiking out west this Friday - so the break is probably timely.

Also - 4 teams and continents??? That simply puts two teams on each continent - which IMHO makes for a dull game. Either pangaea - in which case we can mix it up early - or islands - which makes for a slower, builders game.

I recommend pangaea.

Pangea would be a faster game. But islands would give us a Gilgamesh flood thing.

Maybe pangea with a lot of water.

Planet, I was looking to pair you up with someone that would be playing as the primary and you as the alternate based on your location and availability.

Pangea with lots of water can be interesting because of all the Penisula's, choke points, etc.

Thats one of scaeva's favorite kind of maps

Actually, I prefer Archipelago with 60% water, as I usually play the Dutch, (seafaring and agriculture all the way). Anyways, what's happening with this PBEM? Is it still on for after Beta comes back?

Will this be teams of two. or is everyone an individual? I don't mind delays d/t planet setting sail, or work, etc. Single players would be fine with me.

What Map size, and other things do we want?? This should depend on how many players/teams.

Difficulty, I guess will be Emporer?? If Not, lets go Monarch.

Do we want Pangea or Continents?? I can deal with Pangea.

Do we want a newer Planet (more Mountains) or older (less mountians, more hills/Grassland)? I would like Older

I would like Raging Barbs, as that's how I normally play.

IIRC, whoever sets this up, will have to jump through some hoops to make everyone the same civ.

Oh, Color, I want the the Purpleish Blue, that is being used by the Poly C3CISDG team.

I will look at the editor tonight to see if I can handle setting this up.

I saw some interest in arch and some for pan. I prefer all the little islands for this game myself - an Epic of Gilamesh thing. How about pangea with A LOT of water?

Opinions and colors needed.

I'd like Babylonian Blue.

No AI. If there are fewer AIs than there are players, which would necessarily be the case in a game that already has 6 human civs, then some people get punching bags and others don't, which makes things even more dependent on map generation.

I'd lobby for a small map unless we go up to 7 players. Bigger maps mean more micromanagement in the end.

I'd argue for continents myself - gives you some neighbors in the short-term but also adds in naval situations in the long-term - but I'm fine with pangea or continents. Just don't raise the water level too much if we do go for a small map.

Playing with the editor now. I am looking at a Standard Arch map with 60% water. That gives lots of little continents with small seas.

Looking at setting all the civs to Babylon.

Um - it seems that I will have a preview of the map. I promise that I am not looking at resources or even details. But how should this be handled? I could reveal the map to all in game or send a screenie of the editor's minimap, which is all I'm really going to look at when I settle on a final map. Or I send nothing an we trust that I will forget the shape of the world.

I'd prefer to send the minimap. Let me know.
