Tag-up offsides: fine. not that big a deal, in my opinion

Goalies can only puckhandle in trapezoid behind net: crap. goalies should be fair game outside crease, but have all the privileges of a skater

Shootouts: **** you, *******s. shootouts aren't hockey. 1000 X

Smaller goalie pads: goalie pads are not overly large as is. goalies are just really good. Time to up the ante on the skaters' abilities.

Crackdown on obstruction. Meh. Obstruction is already badly defined. How the **** are you going to crack down on something so subjective (as it stands now)

No line change for a team that ices the puck: good idea. Now make it automatic icing unless there's a breakaway.

Defensemen will get a delay of game penalty for shooting the puck over the boards: depends. got to be careful about non-deliberate shots over the boards

Instigation: **** instigation. **** it, **** it **** it. teams need to be able to protect their stars from the dirty **** that some players pull. it's a physical game with a lot of room for bullshit, and if there needs to be a fight to settle things then so be it.

I'm not so sure about removing the two line pass. In my experience it has lead to the defensemen giving up the blue line more easily and dropping back all the way to their own blue line so as not to allow any breakaways. I remember watching the World Cup and hearing some commentators here advocating bringing back the two line pass.

You haven't followed American football much have you?

I assure you, there are a LOT of crazy black guys in the league. Ray Lewis, who I mentioned, is a good example. Hell, he may have killed someone (but was found innocent).

And when you weight 250+ pounds of solid muscle and look like you are going to tear someone's eyes out... that IS freaking scary.

I always hated hockey because of the fact that referees automatically turned into boxing referees when a fight broke out, instead of breaking it up.

I constantly found myself thinking "am I the only one here who came to see the GAME?"

Any sport that emphasizes fighting (which isn't a fighting sport) is quite pointless...it marginalizes the sport itself.


After all, why would you want to risk one of your players getting hurt?
To prepetuate some Canadian "i'm a brainless thug" mentality? "Yeah, we lost the game because our player got too hurt to play, but he really kicked ass!"

If you want to fight, get into boxing, fighting has nothing to do with the game of hockey.

And if you say it does, then you are admitting that the game is pointless beyond the violent aspect of it.

These same "tough guys" would wilt in the pro boxing game.

and that is the rest of the story.
