We should at least draft a small greeting and open up the possibilty of a tech exchange if not now, in the near future. Sorry for not having been active but, is there a tech that they have that we might need?

They do not yet have Bronze Working.

They got Cer Bur either from a hut or from one of CGN or BAT.

Suffering from ads?

CBR started with Pottery and Alphabet

CGN with Pottery and Cer Bur [no trade here unless they traded Alphabet for Cer Bur]
BAT with Cer Bur and Alphabet

So they either got it from a hut or from BAT.

Do we want to slow the game down for the next turn or so?

I could finish the turn, but not send it until late tonight (if we want to mask contact) or tomorrow just before 24 hours (if we don't care).

Slowing the game down could help us establish peaceful relations. We are just starting the granery. All they have is warriors, but still I would prefer being left alone for the next 20 turns.

It's 60 beakers, so it is mathematically possible that they researched it (we were at 64 beakers at the start of our turn).

It would be hard to believe that would be a first choice for any civ to research though.

Good idea, though that should be impossible. Poly is set up to show the last posted in thread as the last public post. When you post in a private forum, the timestamp of your last post will be updated, but the thread shown should still be your last public post.

That said, it is a "should be." There was a bug a little while back where some people, me among them, could see private threads in profiles. That was fixed, but it's possible there's another group of users with the same capability.

They are too damn close IMO! I did not want to see CBR near us. But, let's make real nice with them MZ. We need to claim the river as ours. I suggest our first settler head that way to settle along it. We can backfill later; it's not like it's 30 tiles from our Capital.

Enter the AD-FREE zone

I'm not sure if this is valid in C3C but in PTW you could tell the direction a unit came from by the direction he was facing. This only worked for teams which came before you in the turn order since the new turn would "reset" all units to face south east, the default position. My memory is fuzzy though, I don't play Civ much these days.

Thus it would seem the warrior was coming from the north-west.

Aro, would you be interested in being ambassador to C3B? Having someone of the same nationality would definitely serve to soften things up, and thus make them less inclined to see us in a negative light.

Yes. Slow it down. So what if someone notices that we took longer. What good would that info be to them? Poly met someone. It was inevitable.

I don't know for sure either, but based on the hill positions and knowing how line-of-sight works in CivIII, I don't think that they moved their W 3 last turn. It wouldn't make sense. Looking at the picture they came from either 4 or 2 of their position. More likely 2 as they would have been able to see the cow, bonus grass, river and hills from the hill 2 of where they are making them going n a logical move.

I would love, but...

I have a very complicated agenda (Some shows an lectures in August and September already scheduled). If not a real ambassador, at least a member of our "diplomatic mission" to C3B. If the diplomatic chats and stuff don't overlap my appointments, I'm ready for duty, Sir!
