If we want to invade at the end of the NAP, it is diplomatically difficuult to avoid the requests for extensions, thus giving our intentions away.

No I did not send anything as I was away this morning and nye beat me to it. No problem. Let's see what they respond and base our subsequent actions on that. If they do not respond by tomorrow I will send them a more "official" note.

I am particularly interested to see if they show a willingness to chat or to discuss anything related to borders. It's not a particular warm sight to meet a team with Enkidus at this part of the game, let's see just how wary they are of us.

What type of stance do we take with CBR?

I think that we should be friendly and honest. We need to play nice until we know what our continent is like. There is still (most likely) someone on our continent we haven't met. We need to get to know the situation before we start killing people.

I think it is in our best interests not to hamper exploration in any way. If CBR starts with some Roleplayian crap about not letting us explore here or there, there will be problems. I do not see any other conceivable potential friction at this stage besides that.

I'm not aware of strategies in MP games. What do you think they are expecting us to do? And what usually we did in the past, after the first contact? I know what I usually do: I kill the bastard, find his capitol and change all my production to war.

An early ancient war should be out of the question for the sole reason that we would waste our GA needlessly. I'd say that at the earliest we should consider them for elimination would be after we have the option to change government.
