He clearly hasn't got expensive enough lawyers. I'm sure that they can appeal for the rest of the season, and still make it that he plays.

You have to be smoking crack!
quote:

So if Griese had the same attempts that Bulger did (plausible considering that he's the starter since the beginning of the year), he'd have 3,797.55 yards, 29 TDs, and 17 INTs. That's quite a good QB.

The thing is he didn't have the same # of attempts. Griese has not proven that he can do what Bulger has done. Remember Bulger had a passer rating of over 100 the year that he took over for Warner. You don't know what Griese is going to do this year. We'll just have to see. We do however know with a good deal of certaintly that Bulger is going to do at least as well as last year and probably better because the rest of the Rams offense is better. Kurtis and McDonald are in their third year and should improve a great deal over last year, and the Rams offensive line will definitely be good and get better during the year. Last year Bulger could only take three steps back during a good part of the season. That, and, Bulger has built up toughness and experience. If he can just get it in the red zone better he's going to be great this year, and so will the Rams.

I showed you the stats. Bulger has about 150 more yards if both have the same attempts and 3 less INTs. But Griese has EIGHT more TDs.

How am I on crack now?

Bulger played a full 13 games last season and Griese played a full 12, yet Bulger's fantasy points were 120 more than Griese's.

Enter the AD-FREE zone

Griese actually started 10 games last year and played in 11. Bulger played in 14 games last year (and started all of them.. but left one after 4 attempts). The year before, Bulger had an 81.4 passer rating with less yards than last year and a lower completion percentage. His season last year was better than the year before.

Griese took over mid year, with a team with far less talent, and was a better QB than Bulger, as his passer rating and completion percentage show.

You are seriously underestimating Griese. I'll note this at the end of the season when Griese is a top 5 fantasy QB.

Top five? Imran, you've got to be kidding me. Manning, McNabb, Culpepper, and Green have him beat without any fraction of a doubt. I'm tired, so I can't think of a fifth now, but there will be one, I assure you.

Reismark's team scares me.

Here's mine:

Donovan McNabb
Chad Pennington

Curtis Martin
Kevan Barlow

Derrick Blaylock
Dominic Rhodes

Terrell Owens
Nate Burleson
Eric Moulds

TJ Houshmanzadeh

Antonio Gates
Jim Kleinsasser

Matt Stover

He could maybe #5. I give it about a 25% chance, but I give it about a 50% chance that he barely cracks the top 10. Bulger on the other hand will probably be #4 and there's a good chance that he'll be number 3.

D-E-L-U-S-I-O-N-A-L! What does that spell? Delusional!

There is no doubt Griese makes the top 10, and not barely. He was 6th in the league in passer rating last year and now he's got a full year under center, with Clayton having a year under his belt and Cadillac Williams ready to step in sometime this season.

I give him a 50% chance of cracking the Top 5 and only a 5% chance of NOT being in the top 10.

quote:

Yep, like I said, he's smoking something. Bulger is too inconsistent and throws too many INT/TD (like two years ago) to be in the Top 3. Manning and Culpepper are 1 and 2. McNabb and Green will probably go 3 and 4 (in whatever order), and I think Griese will be 5. Bulger may be 7 or 8 behind Favre and perhaps Plummer.

Got spare money?

I think that Manning and Culpepper are in a class of their own, and although Manning got most of the credit last year, they're pretty much even.

They're followed by McNabb and Green.

Of the remaining ones, I think Bulger looks best. But putting him any higher than fifth is just delusional.

Seeing is believing. Griese was never the star QB, not even in his days with the Broncos, and that team was by no means inferior.

If Griese wants to perform, he needs Joey Galloway and Anthony Becht to stay healthy, step up, and make plays. Alex Smith might do well in double TE situations, he's a good pick for the future.

Bulger isn't superb though. He'll get massive yards, but he needs an underneath cushion, because Faulk isn't there anymore to serve as a quick-dump target. Getting Manumaleuma more involved or re-routing Curtis/McDonald will help him very much.

Put an end to popups!

Yet, Griese thrived under Gruden's offense... just like another QB who was never a star before Gruden got to town. I'm speaking of Rich Gannon, of course, who was a bona fide fantasy star during the Gruden era and then the first year sans Gruden.

His 10 game streach last year shows what happens when you put Griese in such an offense... and that was with basically no running game!

Ah, but will the addition of a running game help Griese's stats or not?

The plays will be more balanced now, leaving Griese with fewer passing attempts. The Bucs defense is still good, so instances where he's called upon to rally the team back will not be there often. I don't think he'll do badly though, I'm putting him down for 3,600 yards, 24 TD, and 16 INTs.

Well, a more balanced attack will prevent defenses from cheating on the pass (which even though they did so, Griese still had a 97 passer rating). I think the Bucs ran a decent amount last season, they just didn't get a good YPA.

Manumaleuna won't start probably although they might go with 2 TEs this year. Roland Williams was brought back. Curtis and McDonald will be much better this year. Jackson will make the whole system much better, and the line should get better as the season goes so they shouldn't need the quick-dump target, although Faulk will play on passing downs.

L.T. had 55 yards and a TD on 1 carry today. That's a good thing. Bulger and the rest of my team is also looking good in preseason, well most of them. It's starting to look like my #3 back (Bennet) will share carries.

You are on drugs... you did realize that Moss was out a good portion of last year... the year that Culpepper had a historic year passing the ball, right? There is no way outside of injury that Culpepper doesn't finish at least 2. Hell, he may even finish 1st, he's that talented.

Well, I would have said Culpepper could finish 3rd (even though HIGHLY unlikely) before T.O. decided to **** with McNabb's ability to finish in the Top 2. Even if T.O. plays in the first game of the year, McNabb's relationship with his best WR will be shaken.
