Well, in the past, I was rather safer, as Jax usually only gets hit on the way out of Florida, which means the storms are considerably weaker. This will be my first landfall event. Hell, if projections are correct, I'll be in the eye.

Right now I can see the outer bands of Katrina off shore. To the East, there's this dark grey wall, with a bunch of fluffy white clouds scudding past in front of it. To the West, sunshine.

We will be evacuating to a friend's house tomorrow. They aren't really much higher above sea level, and they are right next to a canal, but they're a few miles further inland.

I was north-east of Atl. (I-85 Suwanee area) for the first one in July. The countie that my Daughter lives in was not bad, just lots of rain. The countie north of her got hit real hard, homes were lost. And Six Flags was flooded. However it was clean up the next week because we went to it July 19th.

Other way around. He said God would smite Orlando because Disney organized Gay Days. The hurricane turned and hit Virginia Beach, where his headquarters is located instead.

We are now under a hurricane warning. Oddly enough, I'm not freaking out like I was earlier in the season.

I'm looking at the radar and it kinda looks like the storm has stopped moving West. The center of rotation is just sitting there. It's hard to tell though, cuz it's at the extreme edge of Miami's radar.
