Btw, as a fan of both American and Association Football (what we are talking about here) as well as someone who'll stop channel switching to watch Aussie football or rugby football, lets not make this about putting down another form of football. Thanks.

Now, what I was saying, and reds agreed with is that SWP could be starting and making what he's making. Sure, he could win a league championship and maybe a CL trophy with Chelsea, but as a backup. Should have stayed at Man City. They've not lost for quite a while.

I'll try and avoid this tread on match days (which seems to be everyday now but hey)

What I do hate though is the news giving you the scores!! Why???
If you really need to know the scores that quickly, go over to ceefax or the internet or whatever.

Don't show them just before you are going to broadcast and hour long dedicated program for it.

Though I do like when Fox Soccer Channel shows Sky Sports Report (or whatever) and they go through the next day's papers by ACTUALLY having the paper on the desk and the camera over the anchor's shoulder. That was surreal.

We played quite well actually, and Luque seems to be all right, although what he was thinking when he put it past the post with only Van der Saar to beat is beyond me. I know it wouldn't have changed the result, but we're still looking for our first goal, and scoring against the Scum on your debut would go a long way to getting the fans on-side.

Robinho has stepped onto the pitch for Real Madrid. And though it's VERY early in his Spanish career, his first two touches seem to bode very well for his future career. He made a wonderful move on the first time, and the second was a deft pass to a streaking Roberto Carlos who put a hard hit shot on goal.

Looks like he'll be great fun to watch.

Only 20 minutes or so, but Robinho is the REAL deal, folks. He'll have a great career. Set up a goal, and had another set up denied by the shooter hitting the crossbar.

Poor Owen, seeing Robinho, he's got NO chance to be starting (barring injuries, naturally).
