Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

We the humble and honorable people of the U.M.K. wish to engage in trade with the Byzantine empire. As a gift we send you, our most insane, and most amusing, madman. He comes caged and chained, along with the hairy, barrel chested, burly, Hubris his official keeper.

Our wisest of wiseguys have determined that he has anywhere from 5 to 10 demons inhabiting his body which is most likely a penance for some evil deed he committed earlier on in his life. We can't say for sure but we believe that he may have been a witch at some point seeing as he did weigh more than a duck.

Hubris can show the variety of ways in which he can be a source of constant amusement. Our favorite is to hand him a knife a cheer him on as he gouges at the "bugs" beneath his skin. Just make sure to keep a mop handy.

He also has a mortal fear of dogs, and when this is exploited can plow an entire acre in twice the time it takes an crew of two oxen and one man to do the same.

We hope this gift amuses you, this token is but a fraction of what is to come if you should engage in trade with the humble and honorable people of the U.M.K.

I wonder how a religious society will view the gift of a man that's controlled by demons.

Do you have anything in mind for the university? We have a couple of ideas, but since it's in your land, you can make the decisions.

A mosque should be built in close-proximity to the University. Also, we'd probably need to build some sort of connection between Carthage and Arabia, since we have no city close by. (secret) I'd rather not have Syracruse gaining money because of our University.(secret)

Yes to the mosque. We're not quite sure how you intend to connect Carthage to Arabia moreso than it already is.

Sorry about the disappearing navy- I'm in the process of moving to a new computer, and some old files got copied instead of new ones. Fixed.

You could probably transport 100 passengers per ship per trip. But your ships would be able to make several trips per turn.

Tired of ads?

Civilian ships can move them the rest of the way to Carthage, but we are not letting your warships into our city for such a trivial reason.

Iberia to Bavaria :

What? You did not know that chieftain was a fraud? You should be more careful in choosing your allies. Your "chieftain" was a cousin to the true chieftain, whom he murdered along with much of his family. He then extorted money from the civilians and was preparing to assassinate his neighboring tribe's leader and take over his land as well. We apologize only that we were unable to prevent that criminal from escaping. We will promise no further movements into any of that territory...if you can keep your subject states and the Franks in check.

The Franks are currently Christian, or at least Christian with bits of paganism mixed in.

Wow, there´s a lot going on here! I´m back!

Hm, is it possible to take over the Saxons? They´re not on the map yet... The Byzantines are too limited in their possibilities for me...

Btw, great map ciders! Where did you get the ship symbol from? It´s an honor to see the fruits of my poor drawing skills put to good use here... Good job!

Google images came up with the ship symbol; you use some sort of tool to fuzz over the ships in the AHENES so I couldn't get a good copy.

I could give you the Saxons, but most of their territory is off the northern edge of the map. What about the Avars? They're off to the east of Vienna, another big barbarian horde type nation. I could generate stats and the like for them.

Arabia to Iberia:

It appears we have over-extended ourselves. All of our laborers have many things to do, such as building the road-network, and Mosques around the empire. It seems we will not be able to contribute any laborers to the University for a while, however, we will be helping to build it in other ways. I give you my apologies.
