Of course all of these responses are from non-americans. Everytime I talk to one of my countrymen, they tell me I live in the greatest country in the world. If the UN is correct, how can they be so wrong?

Americans , I think, tend to add military power in there as a factor, equating "greatest" with "strongest"

No more stupid than any other country trying to lay claim to being the "best country in the world". All you can do is measure different criteria and rank countries based on any given category, but it's rediculous to say that there's any singular "best" country.
