The wise and catholic King Don Juan de Austria has tried, with the best of intentions, to make peace with their cousins the King of France and the Virgn Queen of England. Both have refused to receive our ambassadors. However, the peace offer is still there.

The mighty Spanish troops have skirmished with Berber mounted soldiers outside our fortress-city of Tangiers. God was on the Spanish side again, and the Spanish knights returned home safe and sound, rejoying with their victory.

Oh, BTW, the King received in his court a certain Christopher Columbus, and after hours of hearing amazing tales and strange theories, His Catholic Majesty has agreed to support with money a rash naval expedition towards the West. Who knows, maybe Columbus will be able to reach the far Zipango and bring back loads of spices to Spain?

The kingdom France wants no hostilities whit the Holy Roman Empire of German Nation, this conflict is whit your imperial highnesses relative not whit you (this is said to his imperial higness ofcourse, not to the spanish scum ).
A few days ago I Loius XIV of France received news about a naval skirmish outside the north-eastern Spanish coast, the French navy was reppeled but only after severely handicapping the spanish armada (we hearby also deny all romours about our navy being beaten by a simple merchant ship).
The modernisation of the state that was begun by us (me) in 1483 is proceding smothly (although costly...).

A virus? We all need to locate where it came from. I've got enough problems making this computer do what I want it to do without having to deal w/a virus. My start up program looks for and spots viruses every time the computer gets turned on. Is anyone else having problems? Hogfather, what is the nature of the thing and what is its name?

edit; Ok, I ran the Norton virus detection on my HD and used it to examine the last game file sent to me. Found no virus. HF, what did it do? How did you find it?

Well, my virus program allways automatically checks all files that I recieve and send.
I just did a scan of the entire disk just the same and found nothing.
Was the virus file from me?
Did you experience a virus or was you just told by your virus program that there was a virus (there was someone else in another thread that was told by thier antivirus program that there was a virus in thier save file, but that was just the virus program using old virus definitions(mine are from the 1 mars this year btw))?

well, I couldn't downloaded because the hotmail virus scan reported a 'virus'.

So send it to sigakid@worldmailer.com as well as hotmail.

You see, if hotmail even thinks there may be a virus, it disables the ability to download the attachment.

I am the one who sends saves to Hogfather (and I jsut did again) so I think I am the one whit the current turn.
I just figured something else out:
If I had a Pc virus I don't think my anti-virus software would tell me about it (or recognise it).
If somehow a virus has gotten into the file somewhere else, I can't stop it.
But I seriously doubt that it has, I saved the file myself and every savefile is essentially treated as a "new" game, right.
If there was a virus in the save file I loaded would it then still be there after creating a new savefile (which I allways do)?

I played my turn this afternoon and sent it to Henrik. I couldn't post here before, nor do I have much time right now, but all I will say is...

Christopher Columbus has returned!!! He has brought back some jewelry and some slaves, and the promise to find a route to the Far East.

Thus, the city of Cádiz now has "Voyages of Dicovery": two extra ship movement for me!!!

British industries continue to grow and money continues to amass in the coffers as traders depart from the isles east and west to establish new trade routes that will enrich the great Kingdom of England.

As to the military, English forces in Ireland suffered a crushing defeat during the siege of Dublin as the siege proved too long and the walls of Dublin unscalable. The Queen has ordered for the heathen Irish to be left alone to suffer their own destiny... at least for the time being.
