About a year ago before I got my new computer I discovered a little bug. I guess it couldn't really be termed as "useful", but I'm proud of it. You have to have a really slow computer to do it. I was using a 99mhz 32MB of ram 1 gig hard drive computer. It only works on 2x2x and it only works once you get to a certain point in the game. You have to have alot of cities, say 50 or so and with a good amount of units. And your cities need to be fairly good sized. The reason behind this is because it slows down the computer and makes it "lag" in a processing sense. Ok, take a settler and hit I really really fast. Like 4 times in a second. If you hit it fast enough and if your computer is slowed down enough you can build irrigation in 1 turn. Anyone have a slow enough computer out there?

It's not a lag cheat first of all, it has to do with processing speed not your internet connection. Second of all since it's 2x2x why would you need irrigation anyways? Do you see any irrigation in my games?
"Yeah, that one is right up there with disbanding a unit multiple time to get lots of shield from a warrior. Since I usually host, I have never been able to do those lag cheats. Needless to say, they are frowned upon."
Not even close, this has nothing to do with internet lag. Not to mention the fact that one is way more useful than the other.

Well if I remember right, I started out with alphabet (at that time the host tech thing hadn't started up yet) I found map making and pottery in a hut, after I finish discovering horsebackriding I switched right to seafaring. That means I only had to discover 2 techs. But the real key is that I got seafaring out of a hut as I was researching it. I then rushbuilt an explorer out of an advanced tribe about 10 spaces from your capital. My first hut in the game was a horse. What's so hard to understand?

On king 2x2x small map finding your opponents cap around 3500BC is quite common if you're fairly close and an early hut gives you a horse or chariot. Putting an explorer into you're opponents cap by 3450BC is certainly not impossible with the right hut techs and 100 gold or so from a hut, it's not as if Eyes does this every game.
