I recieved a strange email reply. But it wasnt from him! Attached was a MP3.dll. ! So im thinking it was some hacker.....I dont know. I replied to jon and curouisly noticed that the sender was not Jonfurderer...but J0nfurderer. So im wondering now.....

Im thinking its one of those stupid keystroke loggers. I double clicked it, it disappeared...very odd.....but the mystery file is still in me. However...i am searching for it now in my port.... and have gotten some advice on how to look for it...

It was a virus Jon got from his sister. He has apologied for that on the forum - just his thread got lost during the restore of the Apolyton site recent - same way as many other mails did from those days round the new year.

Well someone had to do something about the pollution - especially considering any nukes out there most likely had Spain's name on them...

Jon/Max - what's the story? I asked FG to pass the turn to Max as Jon disappeared off the radar without any prior warning - Max has again kindly agreed to help out. I did receive an email from Jon (as did everyone else I gather) but to me it seemed blank...

There does seem to be an issue between our respective ISPs - did everyone else see what Jon had posted, or was it just me?

As many of you already know - I will be travelling overseas barring any misshaps on the 28th Jan for a long time and basically incommunicado for probably 2 months.

Don has kindly agreed to sub for me and will be brought up to speed!

Damnit Mobius those blank emails arent from him

I got the same freakin thing...although it was from _jonfurderer (notice the _) and had a stupid port transmitter attached or somthing attached (Thought maybe it had somthing to do with PBEM)


I clicked it.....the thing disappeared and now is doing somthing in the background of my NEW CPU

Btw...I did recieve a mail from the real jon, which said he sent the Turn. But it wasnt blank.

Kinda wish he would post and clear things up!

The mail from Jon was a virus - he has apolygies for this on the forum, but the thread was one of those, disappearing during when Apolyton server was resat just after NewYear.

Im not too worried. The first thing I did when I got this CPU was unistall XP and put in Win98.(I hated XP). Oh and I have upated Virus scan..but it found nothing.

So the virus probably effects XP. Which I dont have

Surely with viruses you actually have to open an executable or program attached to the email to be affected?

They haven't made viruses yet that are the email itself - have they!?!?
