Several seasons ago, Mayan priests spread their false religion to the citizens of San Jose. The gullible citizens there have been making charitable contributions to the Mayans each season, which is a drain to the American treasury. Their is no known way to reverse the effects of a conversion without expending substantial sums of gold.

As a result of these cowardly acts Chairman Nuke has authorized Operation Divine Justice. The purpose of this operation will be root out Mayan clerics and defrock them.

Mayan leader we Americans were content to live in peace, but you have brought Operation Divine Justice upon yourself.

To our German friends. Operation Divine Justice is an internal matter between two American civilizations we expect your neutrality in this conflict.

The Americans have received an offer of 1,000 gold to avoid a conflict with the Mayans. Their offer is inadequate as the Americans have diverted resorces away from expansion of our empire, advancement technology, and trade.

Inca leader much more than 1,000 gold will be required. Providing us with Railroad, Physics, Democracy, your next advance and 20,000 gold might avoid a conflict.

Operation Divine Justice News

Mayan resistance was tougher than expected. However, the city of Kabah Labna was taken without American casualties. Brave American troops eaily swept aside the garrison in Kabah Labna.

Care was taken to avoid collateral damage.

Maya is expected to counter-attack next turn.

Mayan resistance has been more difficult than anticipated. American military commanders are becoming frustrated as they expected to be conducting mopping up operations at this time

The Mayan town of Seibal was liberated this turn from their Mayan overlords Amongst the Mayan casualties was a cleric, who was presumed to be the lead heretic that had converted an American city.

The Americans have always been willing to discuss peace. However, the Mayans have steadfastly refused to bargain with us.

More Mayan cities will fall if Maya continues their military buildup. A Mayan counter-attack is expected soon.
