The Mayan have found themselves a new leader ---> Me

The Mayan have welcomed me with good news about their progress and the war with the Americans.

I've given research in the history of the world a high priority and have found that the war between my people and the opressing Americans has been a long and hard one. I've assured them that the crimes against our people in the past will not go unpunished!

Reading the history in the World Wide neWs, I've noticed that the Americans have proposed a peace-treaty, while keeping up hostile actions towards the Mayans.

Evidence of these actions are hostile forces seen not far from Kabah Labna and the construction of a road to our city. The other evidence comes from my envoiremental specialists that have warned me about a steep increase in polluting agents coming from America. Concluding that America is enhancing it's producing capabilities.

I already have taken action 2 counter any assault the Americans try to trow @ me.

A Warning 2 the Americans -> Do Not test my warfaring capabilities or you will suffer defeat!

A not 2 the Germans, we hope to keep up the relations of the past. We have no hostile intentions towards your people and hope you can understand our position in these violent times. We wish you prosperity in the future.

American hopes for a more reasonable Mayan leader have now vanished. If the Mayans desire war, we hope you have the belly for it The Mayan people overthrew their last leader for pursuing their war mongering ways. Pray their new leader does not suffer a similar fate

American forces near Kaba Labna have established a defensive perimeter against Mayan aggression. We shall wait to see what the next season brings us.

Americans celebrated late into the night upon news that Edison's Lab had been completed. Science output is now expected to soar.

A peace treaty has again been submitted to the Mayans. They may pillage the road to Kaba Labna. All other terms of the prior peace proposal remain.

I'm trusting the offer as described above and expect the American forces to withdraw from the territory surrounding Seibal, so a Settler can start a New Mayan city.
The settler is about 2 turns away from the location described in the treaty so the Americans can start moving recources from Ceibal to prepare for allocation.

I have complied with the request made by a pErsonal Messenger from the AmerIcans Leader to move 1 unit to the paved land to our city to pillage the road...... However, since we've reached a new understanding I've deceided not to pillage the tile but to concider the road as a gift from the Americans.

There's only one big but......... I hope the wisedom of the American leader stretches as far as understanding the fact that I cannot accept the tile south of the sugar good as a demilitarised zone. Accepting would leave the new Mayan city open to attack in the future. You can understand the need for a stronger defence @ such a critical point of my borders.
Althoug I beleve the intentions of the Americans are just, the war in the past forces me to keep a sharp eye @ the northern border.

The first steps of peace have been made, I hope we can continue the new path we have chosen to follow

Great Mayan Leader,

George W. Bush of the Americans sends his personal regards and compliments on your decision to accept peace with the Americans. As indicated in our proposal we shall require 2-3 turns to disband Seibal and remove our forces. We have already begun to stand down. Notice the reduction in one of the stacks near Seibal.

We noted all of our terms were not accepted We request you confirm your intension of where your new city will be located. Additionally,
to ensure the Americans retain the sugar good near San Jose, a defensive garrison will be located on the good and the adjacent northern tile. This is in lieu of no DMZ.

Let us know if the above is acceptable. We look forward to living in peace with our Mayan neighbors

The Mayan leader wasn't watching his worldmap when replying to the peace proposal.

A DMZ 1 tile south of the sugar-good will be fine, if the Americans agree to keep the tile west of the sugar-good a DMZ as well. For obvious reasons

As this is my first encounter with the American leader, I will trust his words

How about the range between the mountains is a DMZ? Please note it may take me several turns to move/ferry my troops out of the DMZ. I suggest you have 1 unit monitor my progress.

The withdrawal from Seibal continues. An entire stack was transported this turn. 2-4 turns for a complete evacuation. Peace is good.

The Americans request permission to establish full diplomatic relations with the Mayans.

The Mayans are sending a settler 2 the new promised land with one military unit to monitor the progress from the Americans

A DMZ between the mountains would make a settlement in the tile under Seibal impossible. To make further talks smoother, I'll accept the tile south of the sugar-good a DMZ without any other demands. In effect accepting point f of the peace proposal.

Other settlements are underway, and the Mayan are looking forward to a bright future in other lands.

Alhough relation between the Americans and our people are improving, we have yet to receive significant news from the Germans. We would like to hear from our oversees neighbours

The area around Seibal will be evacuated in two turns. The Americans wish to thank the Mayans for being patient.

The American embassy with the Mayans was reestablished. A reception was held and a good time was has by all Peace between the Americans and Mayans would not have been possible without the change of leadership of the Mayans and a more progressive thinker. The Americans look forward to a long and peaceful relationship with their southern neighbors.

The Americans will welcome a Mayan embassy.

The Mayan units that were assigned to attack are now happily reassembling for defencive postures around the empire.

The Mayan leader is struggeling to find the right way to keep his civ in front of the Americans, but I beleve that our future is brighter than before.

If the Americans would be so kind to allow a diplomat to enter their territory, we can start negotiations over tech and sorts.

The Mayan are moving some extra troops to strengthen our newly found city. These movements are not meanth hostile, just normal troop replacement.

The American seem to have changed priorities..?!?

The discovery of a spy outside our border is a sign that the treaty isn't based on as stable grounds as we had hoped.

We still beleve in a peacefull future, but we've raised our military readyness in response to the spiefull manner of our neighbour.

We hope to continue the open dialog of the past, and are willing to discuss our actions with the Americans but,
As this world has proven violent in the past we are prepared for a less diplomatic future, but we hope for a peacefull one.

During the war between the Americans and the Mayans he was most valuable and provided substantial intelligence. He was part of the contingent evacuating Seibal.

The Americans still wish peace with the Mayans.
