The Americans opened a new front in the war to combat Mayan tyranny. Although the Mayans feign peace, they have yet to come forward with a proposal that will guarantee peace between the Mayans and Americans.

The Mayan proposal is simply for the Americans to leave. This is unacceptable as the Mayans initiated the hostilities. There must be compensation for the conversion, which will cost the Americans 1,000 gold to reform San Jose.

The world awaits a peace proposal from the Mayans, but the Americans will not hold their breath

Another city was liberated from the Mayans this turn. Being unable to pronounce the name of the city starting with "D" and the extensive and unfortunate collateral damage, the Central Committee has decided to disband the city and relocate its residents to a more hospitable location.

The Mayans have offered another peace proposal, which was 2,000 gold in exchange for Seibal. Their offer was considered, but Chairman Bush felt it was not genuine and was not convinced the Mayans would honor their agreement This was based in part upon their previous agreement to peace followed by an attack

In order to have a successful peace, the Mayans must denounce the use of force, offer a peace treaty, agree to America's right to its existing and future cities, and not to come within striking distance of any American city. The Mayans must declare their agreement to the world community (i.e., post on this thread).

Peace discussions between the Mayans and Americans may have resulted in an agreement The Americans wish the Mayans to agree to the following:

1. Exchange peace treaties;
   
2. Agree not to attack, pirate, or pillage one another's tile improvements for 30 turns;
   
3. A new mayan city will be located one tile south of Seibal;
   
4. Seibal will be disbanded and its citizens relocated in 2-3 turns after an agreement is reached;
   
5. The Americans will retain the sugar good south of San Jose;
   
6. The tile to the south of the sugar good is a DMZ; and
   
7. No units within striking distance of each others cities.
