Key,
I never ignore history, I also don't dwell on it, the overwhelming victory in Iraq is a direct result of Vietman, we were not going to make the same mistake twice, and what did we do, (with our coalition partners) virtually wiped out I believe the fourth largest standing army at the time within a half a year. No Key, we will never forget the past but today is different. |
It is undeniable that you have a great army but Iraqi soldiers are not famous for their abilities. Beside you wasn't alone in the Gulf War.

I never claimed the opposite.
But along with your successes your failures must be noticed too.
Just to remind you that you are not immortals and history dictates that great powers rise and fall.
We were great power too in the past twice...

no but really...Kurdistan is the size of Syria. And its area cover's 5 different nations. If there were ever a "Kurdistan" it would ignite a hugepowder keg. Iran, Tukey, Syria, Iraq, and somthing stan (Ajer?) would lose huge chunks of there territory. That simply...can never be. |
Who said that it is applicable?

That's ridiculous Pak,
Let's see, my forfathers took a country away from the Native Americans here, so I should give it back, too late. Kurdistan will be assimilated by another country like Turkey or one of the bordering and probably the country the United States need the most at that time. |
How many Native American do they live in the United States?
The 0,1 % of your population?
Well, hear this. Kurds are the 1/3 of the total population of Turkey.

Between full blooded Native Americans and mixed blood, there are a couple million, that is also another good point, how can anyone really tell who is what after all the years of inter-mingling, if that is the right word, I really don't understand the thousands of years of fighting from the Middle East up through the Balkans just because of background, you are telling me everybody can tell by looking that he is a Kurd, muslim, Christian, or whatever and then to partake in genocide against that for a grudge from maybe 2000 years ago, my God what a sad loss of life.

You should talk. You butchered a whole peoples
Today, there is bloodshed in Tureky because they treat kurds like scum. If they treated them like human beings there wouldn'e be bloodshed.
The same applies everywhere in the world.

Europe cant even compare. Most of you guys live in 50 year old homes and still rely on Bus schedules |
walk across america: ghettos, shooting, no medical care, people dying like dogs
walk across europe: parks, sunshine, happy people, peace, quality of life, culture

There's several problems with this. One, the US is, per person, extremely indiviualistic. And we typically expect other people to be. Many Americans also don't really think its there business to worry about other countries, instead bleiving that tehy should take care of themselves.
Two, the US is, per person, extremly individualistic, and we tend to expect it of other cultures as well. Many Americans think it IS their business to worry about other countries, and want to basically make sure everything conforms to our ethical and moral views.
See any conflict here?
The third problem is that the US government is a government, and is most concerned with its own propagation. So it protects ITS citizens, and values THEIR lives over the lives of non-citizens. So if a bunch of people across the world pay the price for our safety, the government thinks thats a pretty good trade off. Non-nationals don't get to vote in elections. The US government supports human rights when it suits it, and only when it suits it.

No never visited Norway, but tell me where they are on the economic or social scale, I think a zero on the number line come to mind, what did they create in the last thousand years that we use, you know, like computers, cars, anything industrias that comes from a Democratic society. |
The highest per capita income in the world, the best educational and wealth system in the world, almost zero unemployment and it is very rare to see homeless people in Norway.
