If RC does recieve many spam mails every day/night, his quota by his ISP might exceed the spacelimits when we are sending turnmails to him - and therefore those turnmails would be rejected by the ISP. Just another guess.....

We would get notification if it was a size problem. Since I have not had any turns bumped, it is obviously a problem with the ISP disabling or otherwise the POP3 account.

Every other customer is experiencing the same problem. It's a problem with imaging the old accounts onto a new and relatively incompatable system. Also, too few staff and sobig and blaster keeping them otherwise occupied. They don't care about us newbies who they bought recently from another company.

My e-mail server problem has been resolved by me bypassing my ISP e-mail server.

If you receive a message from FlameFlash2 please note it is still my regular e-mail account, I simply named it something different in my mail program so that I won't be confused later.

Gotta love IMAP.

We joke at work that Trend creates the viruses, simply because they have the fix before it comes out or very quickly there after.
Mind you if they hear, get word of, see it coming they create a fix for it and all and any possible variants at the same time.

That explains why I have had 2-3 updates to PC-Cillin per day for a week now.

Be warned people the Sobigf variant virus has a new payload. It is a trojan and no one knows what is is going to do, to date.

At the very least, block UDP port 8998 on your firewalls and your systems. That should mitigate damages somewhat by blocking the worm from downloading any further malicious code.

In other words the trojan could simply be waiting for instructions on what to do next.

SoBig.F uses the filename winppr32.exe, and that it copies itself to the Windows folder, making one of the registry entries shown here in the process. Because SoBig.F has its own SMTP engine, collects e-mail addresses from various files on an infected computer, and then forges the sender's e-mail, it is very difficult to determine who is infected based on an infected message.

There are a few manual removal options. Trend Micro provides manual removal instructions for SoBig.F

The worst of SoBig.F may not be over yet. Because of the unpredictable dangers inherent with the hidden Trojan that appears to be included with SoBig.F, every administrator should move quickly to mitigate the damage that could be caused by this worm by following the recommendations mentioned above for removing SoBig.F and blocking its communications ability.

im quite busy with work these days.
please dont worry if my turns are coming late.

i give priority to multiplayer games as they progress very slowly anyway and i dont want to further slow them down.
as a result, the 1x1 game turns might take even a little longer.

please be patient, im still around.

Where to start?

Ok as part of my job I dabble in virus's on computers of course.

Well had a level 10 meaning one got loose. I have shut down for a few days now cuz it's a good one.

Most here know me and in what 3-4 years i have not spead a single viri. Nor will I

Fact is dispite my job I have gone years viri free. Well the streak ends here It will be a few more days before I can email so be patient.

Six machines on this network to wash and believe me a total bleach is in order here.

All my ghost images are gone so this is a total reconstruct. In the mean time please keep the games I moderate going and the games i play hang tough if you can.

The CtP-DG is restarting as a possible mixture of governments

We hope to restart with a totally unique system, in that as the in-game government changes, the DG's government changes with it. For example, when we are a tyrrany in game, the DG is also a tyranny. When we are a communist government, the DG is also a tyranny.

We also hope to have 2 (?) players as dictators to play against us.
