1. I don't think you need to install Keygen's fast-start mod since this game is underway.

2. Copied the following from the "Ain't No Fun" thread for your reference:

A very unhelpful comment- the agreed update interval is a month, the last time was March 3rd... The new Table is already prepared, over the last few months a lot of effort has gone into encouraging people to be rated, and getting new players on board, and yes I have to compromise against running and owning a business that turns over 8,000,000USD Annually... I cannot remember seeing many hands thrown skyward offering to update when Quinns Disappeared, constructive criticism is one thing comments like this are highly counterproductive.

Ok Ok Ok..all this hype and my reading and watching games has me wanting to have a go of it. How do I join a new game?..I cant compete with the best so pair me up as a "newbie" but i been playing a long time, lots of battlescars to show my lack of worth.

But seriously, I wanna try a pbem, can someone tell me when we play again?

I tried a little PBEM< between my emails and it was kinda kewl!

Isn't getting rated only a good idea when you're actually starting the game out? I know that I certainly don't want to be rated in R2 Islands which was on T129 at least when I started, while I know I asked to be in Bulletproof, which I started playing and will finish as long as everybody sticks around. Now in games like Eagles@War (T61), LiveWire (T17), & Chicken Run (T22) where is the recommended cut off point for getting rated? I'd think I'd still have a chance in LiveWire and Chicken Run, though looking at the map, I'm not sure. Eagles@War is too far gone in my view to be rated in that one.

I'm making note of all this BTW because I don't think (other than bulletproof) that I mentioned I wanted to be rated. Since these are the only games I'll be in for a while (unless one of them dies) what's the turn cutoff in the more experianced CtPers here for being rated?

I'm a little confused. How does one get rated? Is there an explanation of the rating system somewhere?

Also Troll, I'm also new to MP, would you like to start a game? I'm really looking to delve in as much as possible, and due to the long intervals between turns(I still haven't received any of PN's turns)in PBEM, I feel that I can have multiple games going at once. I think being rated is a pretty big Buzz, - (ask Lung the undisputed PBEM champion ) I am rated in every game I play including the ones I subbed into.... Without exception when you take over a game, you find yourself way behind in the powergraph.... In one game I was so far behind it was embarrassing.... BUT there is a great sense of achievement taking a weak position and moving even into second last place.... It is more enjoyable for me to Struggle and Overcome than to have a massive lead.... erm chance would be a fine thing.....

How does the rating system work though? Is there someplace I can go to find out more info on that?

I'll make it official that I might as well get rated in all the games I'm in here with this post. *shrugs* I mean, it is, after all, a comparison with how much a suck/am better than other players, though I have a feeling the first is much more likely

I propose to start a NEW game, no mods, but equalised land, I'd like to start a team game, with players in pairs, 8 players per game, possibly morre than one game if enough are interested.. IF I created the map and Zobo or Keygen would Mod start it for me then Grrrreat... otherwise a 5 settler 5000 gold start will be suggested.. Be great if people can post with their proposed team mate....

Presumably by that you mean that the terrain is symmetric (that is presumably rotational symmetry of order four for four teams)? Are you planning to do anything about huts / ruins?

I am a Property Developer, not a Rocket Scientist...

The Map will not be symmetrical... But they do have their place, particularly in tournament play... Goody Huts will be eliminated altogether if that is what the participants want.

I just read the trollvsdavid thread and decided it was a good idea.

I challenge someone to a 1vs1 small map Keygen's Mod Lite game. No moderator, so to apply you need to be someone reliable. By reliable I mean already participating in a couple of games with the 24hour rule and not holding them up.

I think that should open the offer to newbies and veterans alike. So if any newbies want to duel with me, or any pros want to school me, let me know.

blackice and you act as if you were somewhat forced to keep up with the ratings. Don't let it become a burden! Just say you are busy making money by the truckload and don't have time for much else, except for the occasional bathroom break

The bottom line is, you don't owe us anything... If you did, most of us would prefer cash

Don't try and read my mind or second guess me, I do the ratings because I want to, not for glory, praise or self-edification, the point being there is nothing more irksome than someone undermining those efforts for no other reason than to put his post-count up one, do not attempt to dissuade any other individuals from joining the PBEM rankings, it serves no purpose whatsoever other than to cause irritation and dissent. If you do not wish to be in the PBEM ratings that is your Prerogative, and if you do wish to be the Devils Advocate, and carry on your Anti Rating Rhetoric, feel free, but don't expect me to let comments just pass... The PBEM and Internet Leagues will run for some time yet.

Well that is the Beauty of CTP, the rules are what we agree, team play means VICTORY, for the team rather than the individual - the Victory conditions are decided before the Game starts- It could be ALien Life Project, it could be total annihilation of one other team, it could be world domination, capturing all the enemy capitals... or eliminating one member of the opposing teams, as regards Strategies, the options are multiplied a millionfold- I am cooperating with another player in a game we are in (not officially teams) and we went Rennaisance.....On turn 18. One player may become the scientist, the other one the Military force... Whatever you like!
