Well... a topic about all those CTP players who have got bored playing against the AI and looking for a human opponent and... don't know how to start or join a PBEM game . We all were in that position in the one or the other way once .
So here you will be able to find or ask for valuable information about this seductive way to play against humans called PBEM or indicate your desire to play PBEM!

OK, the old farts playing PBEM games for ages can always join a couple more games as well

There are two known ways to join a PBEM game. Either start a new one or permanetaly replace another player who left on a game in progress.

Here are some basic things you should know about PBEM:

1. PBEM is the way to start a game with human opponents without having to worry about the time pressure:
"Damn I have to leave. I have an urgent job to do"
"Common harry up dude! I don't want to wait a whole life to play the next turn!"
"I am an American. I can play from 1:00AM-5:00AM (GMT). Man, I am Europian and I can only play from 6:00PM-10:00PM (GMT)."
"Is it day or night?"
You can play via email at any time you like and yes you can go to the rest room without having to worry about what excuse to find .

2. Have a question?
a) Do you want to join a PBEM? Post here or post your own topic asking to join a game.
b. Do you want to start your own game but don't know how? Post here or post your own topic asking for people to join in and how you start it.
c. Do you want info about everything except Multiplayer? Post your question to "CtP-General/Help/Strategy" forum.

3. To play PBEM you must have 1.2 patch. If you don't have it you can find it here on Apolyton or on Activision.

4. The Hack patch 1.21 is not required but you can have it installed if you like.

5. If you are thinking of getting engaged to PBEM games then you should know that we PBEM players DO NOT LIKE players who disappear without giving a reason why they did. If you are not sure whether you want or have the time to join a PBEM then DO NOT JOIN.

6. New PBEM gamers are consider people who have a little PBEM experience like just having started playing PBEM game a couple of months the most or had played one on the past but had dopped it or never played PBEM before.

7.

There is no 7 point! At list I can't think of anything else right now

I would greatly appreciate any assistance from any PBEM player who is interested on helping this thread work fine!

A couple of players who visit this forum often enough to be considered CTP maniacs and do read the posts on a regular basis. Preferable experienced PBEM players who can answer any (almost) question about PBEM.

Any youngblood looking for his first PBEM game experience?
Or perhaps an older player who wants to join a new game?

PBEM team game, 8 players split into 4 teams of 2 players each.

CTP multiplayer OCC
PBEM OCC (One City Challenge) game.

Permanent Replacements

Three Guns
Deathmatch team PBEM game, 3 teams of 2 players each (6 players total), very good position. Currently on turn 37.
The player must be resident of Oceania (Australia, etc.).
Preferable a good CtP player.

Strife
Standard PBEM game, 6 players, good position, currently at war with another civilization. On turn 93.

Fixed Game
Standard PBEM game, 5 players, below average position but not hopeless, very peacefull and diplomatic game. Currently on turn 160.

Three Guns
PBEM team game, 6 players.

Nuke- the perma sub is like a sponsor... you play the turn if the newbie player cannot, also maybe they can refer to you for help in difficulties.... You don't actually play the Civ.

They are pretty good Flameflash... all civs have a target civ they must eliminate to win the game, so in every game you are the Hunter and the Hunted.... But you never know who is hunting you, which is what makes the game so interesting..... Diplomacy is a little strained as you can imagine.....

Nimrod has taken the position flameflash, it really would have been a nightmare for a newer player... this game is gonna be a major trauma for all of us... I'll send you a copy turn or two so you can see what I mean....I will email a turn from a game I was in (and won) well.... just look at it! I'm interested in getting a MedMod4 (with Paul's modpicker) game going. I know there is one over at Civgaming.net- I'm waiting for that one to start, it's taking some time.

Is there one over here I can jump in on?

Sorry, but I have to withdraw. Problems with the game forced me to uninstall the game, and in the process, a backdoor.trojan appeared in one of the .doc files. I have no idea where it came from... I'm not taking anymore chances. Sorry, fellas.
