I would like to have my first rated PBEM game.

I prefer 1 on 1 game on regular or small map with 2 AI, with warm, wet, uniform settings and without ocean for fast game run.
Only patch 1.2 (1 settler start), 24 hr rule.

I also need a moderator for that game ( please help).

If there are "Humans" interested in such a game, please let me know.

C-Matrix, two player games are rare and not mainstream... Most people play in 5-8 player games... I could put you in one just starting immediately.. remember 2 player games cannot be rated, only 3 + can.. And a moderator for a two player game would sink quickly as the turn rate would be, at times, so high he would not be able to keep up... Maestro has a link in his earlier post for some vacancies in existing games! ;D

Thanks Gav,

Generally I don't mind the number of players (I mentioned 2 just because the game will be faster). However, I do mind playing lost games (usually first 30 turns decide that).

If there is a game still available, in not too advanced stage ( 20 turns MAX, if start with more then 1 settler) I will be happy to participate.

Well, C-Matrix, just IMO it sometimes helps to get experiance from picking up a losing battle... see how far you can make yourself advance before you're in the losing seat again.

The formula is used for PBEM and Internet Play..... MOST Internet games are two player....are you trying to catch me out??

I mentioned in a previous post on the old PBEM rankings thread that I will not rate a two player game... Turn rate is WAY too high and will skew the PBEM tables badly, PBEM is about Diplomacy... and if in a two player game one player is ahead, likely he will stay ahead, and with as many as two or three rated turns per week, a two player game could quickly put one player unjustifiably at the head of the rankings...

In my opinion,

There can be only one reasonable reason to play Rated game ..>>To get Rated.

In second place, I don't consider my self for a person, who can get any other relevant experience.

We all still have much to learn... I reckon to know about 60% of the tactics of this game.... I learnt much from a game called FLY HIGH that I am in... I took over 20 turns ago (on turn 77) and was faced with a civ that was so far behind that it was actually posted as Mission Impossible.... I now have moved right up the rankings, by learning from another player , and within another 20 turns, I will be challenging for the lead... Don't close your mind to new ideas, There is not a single CTP player in the world that can claim he has nothing to learn.... When we played I learnt things from you... when I play every game I learn something new... If I win and learnt nothing, I get no satisfaction, If I lose and learn even a small new tactic, then I am a happy man!

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Superbly strong positions available in many games, moderator required for Team Spirit and Civil war..

Positions in TNT (leading)
Fly High (took over the weakest civ, now it's really moving)
Live Wire ( Very strong position, excellent Science)
Genesis (Started with very poor Land, but now showing potential)
Let there be rock (took over a weak civ 3 or 4 turns ago)
Chicken Run ( Excellent Science, superb land)
Unspeakable Bloodlust ( Excellent Science, Great alliance with Berxpert, Probably be modern by turn 50)

I'll talk all players through the games I am in so that continuity is maintained

Just wanted to post this... really much has changed for me in the last 3 months (2002, essentially), and I would like to return to PBEM, after more than 8 months of not playing games. I would like to take a game or maybe two over here, eh?

I have not only learned to play , but have also slightly increased reliability, by getting (almost) a superb connection, and a backup email at apolytonsolver@hotmail.com .

Thoughts?

Following Civs still available.... Chicken Run choice pick, but Diplomacy in the other two is helping Civ to develop.... Don't worry about the powergraph in Chicken Run.... It is my style of play, I will explain all to whoever takes over civ....

Genesis (Started with very poor Land, but now showing potential)

Still some Superb positions available in some games.... I will keep the weaker ones that I have taken over until they are strengthened..... Anyone want to take a leading position in a mega game in about 2 weeks or so (you could take it now, but I just am making some major alterations to civ ) - Also I got a position in Fly High where I have gone from last position (when I took over Civ) to now a steep powergraph ascent...

Browse Apolyton AD-FREE

I no longer know which games are left.... I am keeping ONLY Happy Killers, but will strengthen my position in Let there be Rock and Genesis before I hand over those two ... Solver took Live wire and Unspeakable bloodlust, Vitolg took TNT... all three were superb positions.... Chicken Run is still available... I have great Land and very good Science.... It will be a long time before I challenge for a powergraph lead though in this... The land is plains and mountains, which is great long term, but slow growth and settler production to start with... Careful manangement will put this civ way up the list.

Fly High is a Civ to take pride in - 30 turns ago I took over a civ that was so weak it was advertised as mission impossible, on turn 72 there was not even a granary built.... Now the civ has 40 cities, a production 6 times what had when I took over and is moving up the powergraph with Mills and factories built/ building... This one really does deserve a very good player who will develop civ further, complete the Science cities I started, and move it further forward.

Genesis was a very difficult start position, and the civ lagged badly in almost every area, production, science and growth... It is a struggle, and could never really challenge for the lead, but who knows!

Let there be Rock was a truly awful civ, the guy had spent his 5,000 or 10,000 start gold on Chocolate and Beer from the looks of it, it still sucks so bad it is embarrassing.. I will try and put things right, then hand it over.... BUT if there is a good player again take it now.
