There are, of course, stories behind every picture, and the full story behind these may never be known. If you find yourself angered, or sickened by them, why not go to the website of Amnesty International? Some things, wherever they happen, must be stopped.

Aren't there pictures which showed the bomb strapped to his chest too?
And wasn't he trying to set off the explosives by rubbing his chest against the ground, so they shot him?

That's what I heard anyway...

This doesn't really add up. At all. Here's the official "police" statement on the incident:

quote:
On Friday, March 8, 2002, a suicide bomber on his way to perpetrate a terror attack in Jerusalem was apprehended by police while wearing a large explosive device on his chest and stomach area. He was held on the ground, face down, while a bomb disposal expert attempted to dismantle the explosive device. This lasted a number of minutes. During this time, the suicide bomber attempted several times to detonate the bomb by rubbing his chest against the ground in the hope of activating the detonation switch. In order to prevent the murder of the policemen and the bomb disposal officer, the suicide bomber was shot and killed by police. The bomb was dismantled with the aid of a bomb disposal robot.

But he's clearly not wearing any sort of bomb in Pic 4. It might have been taken off him, as the poster below suggests, but in that one he's not wearing a device on his chest in any way. So the rubbing story must be a fabrication, which casts doubt over the entire affair.

Additional problems with the official story:

He was in custody for around 30 minutes before this incident happened, according to eye witnesses. And under control. Note the various police officers moving about, these pictures were not taken close together. Why wait until after thirty minutes?

In the pictures he's clearly thrown to the ground, and eye witnesses say he was brutally pushed around by security police several times during his brief arrest. Is that how you'd treat a potential suicide bomber? Allow me to doubt it.

Look really closely under one of the officer's arm. What's he trying to pull off the guy?

In the event something is removed from the chest, it is no longer on the chest. That is correct.

However his hand is still attached to it, and he may well have been reaching for the detonator.

But it still conflicts with the official "rubbing" story. If they meant "he was trying to detonate it while we pulled it away from him", why don't they say so? Something to hide.

Poor english? You know PR people can't ever get things right. Plus it could have been made when details were sketchy.

Why would they say something blatantly untrue intentionally when there are pictures and dozens of witnesses that say otherwise?

You're really going out of your way to paint the cops as cold-blooded killers.

There's no proof or evidence either way, but it is quite clear the man had a bomb on him and was going to die anyway, so it's not that much of a tragedy in my eyes.

It's definitely and obviously a bomb. What other black objects do you strap around your chest under your shirt?

From the general shape I'd say that was the same dark green jacket he was wearing in the first pics. Or a bomb.

The jacket appears to be at the feet of one of the officers in the picture where the blackish object is being pulled from the man.

That looks too small to be a jacket in Pic 5. It's also the wrong colour, but so's the dark object admittedly.

Sorry Bugs and Snapcase.

The guy met a very just end. Too just.

Fruxers like him on their way to blow up school children at bus stops and women in markets should meet much more painful ends than that loser did.

What would your opinion be if there were fanatics like him blowing themselves up in your country? Would you be aghast at these photos? I'm actually very curious to hear your answers.
