A Waco man was shot Friday when a gun apparently accidentally discharged, police said.
Waco police received a call about a disturbance in the 2000 block of Morrow Avenue at 4:05 a.m., said police spokesman Steve Anderson. When officers arrived they were directed to a house where they found Jeremy Don Foster, 20, with a gunshot wound to his leg, Anderson said.
"Apparently an individual had come in to the house with a handgun," he said. "He was playing around with it and he dropped it a couple of times and it went off."
Foster was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center where he remained in stable condition late Friday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Anderson said witnesses gave conflicting descriptions of the man with the gun.
Shooting suspect jailed
