Beria took the podium to give his first address as leader of the USSR. Dozens of TV cameras bristled toward the podium as the new leader of the Soviet Union gave his address.

"These recent terrorists attacks are an appalling tragedy. The USSR condemns all Islamic nations. I think its clear that a "jihad" is something that could only originate from these backward and evil nations. I say to these nations, beware evil-doers, your days are numbered! You will not continue to attack the peace-loving people of this world!"

Thunderous applause echoed through Red Square.

"In response, NKVD men have carried out a number of assassinations of known terrorists in these nations over the last few days." Cheers and upraised fists filled the square. "These acts of justice will continue. The senseless deaths of innocents will be avenged!"

The cheers now resembled a jet engine warming up. Beria looked on placidly, drinking in the approval, becoming intoxicated.

"I remind the people of the Soviet Union that we are the one true faith, and that we must shepard the weak and helpless from the sinners of our world. In the words of our savior "If you don't have a sword," The people were screaming their approval. Women were weeping and fainting with emotion. "...Sell your coat to buy one! The Soviet Union is selling its coat for that sword, my friends! Our space program and genetics program are being cut. We must now dedicate ourselves to our holy, sacred mission. I know you will not let me down." The citizens were screaming their throats raw. The band struck up the Soviet national anthem. Fireworks exploded over the Kremlin. A new era was beginning.

Notes: The NKVD has made assassinations in Iraq, Persia, and Egypt. The targets: anti-Soviet Iraqis, pro-Africa Egyptians, and a few random Iranians for the sake of completeness. No formal state of war exists.

I see the USSR as now being the untouchable villian, using its clout from years of responsibility to sway world opinion, and acting in a ruthless fashion behind the scenes. It's certainly too powerful militarily to deal with, and that military is again being built-up. I think we have some interesting stories ahead...

"The NKVD is pleased to report that they have saved the city of Athens from this Iraqi Jihad. The Iraqi's had smuggled a nuclear warhead into the city, and were caught just in time to save the innocent citizens of this nation."

An image appears of an Iraqi Ziggurat Model truck, with the offending nuclear warhead protruding from the back, marked with Arabic symbols. Three dead Iraqis lie in a pile, while proud NKVD men pose with their submachine guns.

"These brave men have again stopped the Jihad's evil schemes, on the heels of successful execution of Jihad men in Iraq, Iran, and Egypt. The Soviet Union calls on the world to condemn these criminal nations and join us in putting pressure on them to surrender their terrorist elements. This is Olga Mikhailovich, reporting."

RPB gives total military control to MACK the POLLACK, he regretfully accepts.

As there is Russian troop buildup, so must there be in RPB to keep in the #1 spot. RPB now commands the largest Army, Navy, Nuclear arsenal, and inteligence service. Our Air force is second only to that of the USSR.

Habeus Corpus has been passed by the RPB congress, all Iraqi personnel have been arrested and deported to Iraq. The two rocket teams leave Iraq with the plans, as they believe the iraqis should be allowed to clean up the planet shared by all. RPB launches another rocket into the sun.

"Is it warmer now?"

cool, just a note

Please look into your area's culture, (You're the Greenish Blue in between China and Iraq.) We've seen too much random confusing warmongering already.

Otherwise, you are allied with Iraq and Egypt, Your army size is whatever the first page says, but so is your tech, so I wouldn't go off to war just yet if I were you. Maybe Iraq will share knowledge.

He got 59% of the votes.

Babathus swallowed and continued making promises he knew he coulnd't keep as his nation was small and considerded backward by the rest of the world. " I promise unity for this country. A time when there is no fear of war with other nations or amongst our own people. I look to our ancient friends Iraq for aid in helping our nation prosper and they should accept the same from our nation." He was beginnig to feel nervous as he knew there was nothig he had that the Iraqis wanted. He kept babling on with these obscure promises he knew were impossible. But the look of hope on his people made him continue his speech and that same hope will hopefully giude his nation to greatness.

Dammit read my suggestion for Antarcitica, it's been posted but it was ignored:

It could actually be a helpful testing site for those nations engaged in extraterrestrial (meaning outer space not alien) research ergo several small national centers (like embassies) should be created along with a single large UN funded center for those nations unable to found their own buildings there and as a neutral meeting ground for those nations that have established centers on the continent. Each Center could be supplied with 1 battalion of light troops and the UN center with 1 battalion from each nation or 1 battalion composed of soldiers from each nation.
Should Oil, or some other precious commodity, be found on this continent private corporations would be allowed to procure it, any substance procured under such conditions and any revenue gained by it will not be taxed by any government, with the exception of tariffs, and will instead be taxed by the UN. Any tariffs that any nation has must be imposed upon said good even in the event that the company selling the afforementioned substance should be a domestic corporation.

I think a Battalion is an approprite amount of soldiers. I feel that there is a need for trained soldier/peacekeeping personell even in this peaceful effort.

The First Permanent settlements were created on the moon by Canadian engineers. It was a massive leap in mankinds egress from it's polluted home. New Ottowa, a large domed Structure is currently used for reaserch only but will be open for Civillian occupation in one year. The Scientists involved in the endeavor said the hardest part was artificial gravity.
However by reversinbg the finds of Artficial Gravity Canadian scientists claim to have developed hovering vehichles for millitary, and later civillian use. Prototypes will be available in the Canadian "Sciences of the World" exhibit opening next fall in the City of Quebec, due to terrorist threats security is at almost unstoppable levels, Canada is also requesting security help from BEER. All world leaders are invited to the exhibit.

Heres why the Antarctic Proposal is good for me: The UN center will allow Egyptian scientists to research at the pole even though we couldn't afford our own site. It allows research to accelerate and opens up the icy continent in an unbiased matter.
