I thought that the fallout released from Chernobyl was supposed to be the equivalent to dozens of nuclear explosions.

I think that the winds over India this time of year go primarily north by northeast. The US is northwest. Have a nice day.

it does not mean that the wind blows N on 1000 feet that it does so at 2000 feet , ........and the use of nukes shall put large amounts of dust in the atmosphere ,.............

also , since there is so much difference in height , it all comes down to what and where they use it , .........

also , their weapons are "dirty" , meaning they contain kilo's of strontium , ..........that stuff is lethal , .........

The jet stream over that area blows east. Even if the stuff found it's way into an airstream headed toward the US it will diffuse in other directions with every mile travelled. The US is an entire half a world away. That's a tremenous distance for the fallout to diffuse over.

ahem , to give an example , look at Vermont , it has no industry , yet has some of the higest level's of pollution , ....;why , the wind , ......;also , there are many layers in the atmosphere , .....

fall-out stay's in the air for up to months , ...........

and from the blast in the Ukraine , .......;some went as far as DC , .......the levels and records are open to the public , .........also , the reactor plant in the Ukraine contained other types of fission materials , .........

on top , the weapons the Pak army has are really dirty , the ones from India are , well acceptable , still half of their nukes , if they are put to gether very fast with the old detonators and casing also dirty , .......

the dust in higher levels of the atmosphere and stratosphere shall create the same type of pollution like the vulcano in 1990-1 in the Philippines , .....;

on top of that , the whole region shall suffer , the pollution shall also hit the Indian ocean , with the Indian and Equatorial current's this shall go as far as Australia, ...............

It seems to me that the U.S. is between a rock and a hard place here. Pakistan has helped us in the war against terror. We should repay their support with assistance. This would also help tamp down the anti-U.S. feelings in the rest of the Muslim world.

However, they are being attacked because they allegedly support terror in India. If we want to be on the side of those who oppose terror, India is our choice.

Whatever we do or don't do, we will lose a friend and gain an enemy.

Yeah, but as you pointed out, the support is merely alleged without evidence. India couldn't even produce evidence for the attack on the paliament. It struck me as poorly planned and executed. If the attackers were actually terrorists they could have used car bombs or something similar to cause massive destruction. The whole thing just smells.
