Well cowboy, your not getting any cities, nor are you getting away with this.
Jay lost those cities when he was playing, to bording parties followed by landing with the at start forces in the area.

Ripping up terrain is an act of war, either declare war properly, or stop busting my chops.

I started this game, what makes you think I would quit it?

Also, we agreed on procedure, your memory laspes aern't my problem.

You broke the agreement, attacked a player without prior notice.

Here we are, and here we will stand, there is no way I will let you get away with that.

We either go back to where you broke the treaty, and you declare war properly, or we can endlessly post back and forth.

Waku ol buddy, you turned them into dessert.

Turning productive terrain to dessert is destroying it.

So tell me, how do I threaten you, with my little ol Dutch army?

I know that historically Holland kicked Spain out of the Netherlands, but do you really think I would attack you at this point?

If you were so adament about it, why didn't you say so when I asked you last year?

Kind of late to object now.

If you had a farmer transforming them, I would probaly not been mad about it, but you just did it without saying a word with colonists and slaves.

Not cool my friend.

BTW, why didn't you answer my e-mail?
It seems you have been missing lately, what's up with that, anything wrong?

No replies?

I would have prefered to hear something from John & Henrik.
Ok, I simply cannot stand with my arms crossed watching how the best pbem I've ever played goes to pot.
So, you think I attacked you, well I think the vast quantities of gold you've treasured using this bug are insulting, those squares are two drops in the ocean you've transformed.
Dya want me to properly declare war on you? ok, here we go: Spain doesn't consent Holland keeps on doing that, you've got two turns to get ready (time what I won't use to irigate more of your alien terrains) or start undoing yourself what's been done.
Honestly, your backwards sugestion is impossible taking into account that the rest of nations are in war.

PS: I will answer your email once things calm down.

Yeah, sorry I haven't been in touch, but Colonies IV is taking a huge amount of time right now, and I was also hoping things might calm down a little, which it appears they have done.

I think perhaps you've both been perhaps a little over-aggressive in this - but you both have a point, too.

OK, you didn't go for my suggestion of perpetual neutrality for Holland, so Waku's conditional declaration of war is fair. As he has give two moves' notice, this makes up for the rather unilateral actions of his Slaves, in my opinion. Henrik?

Chris, can you live with that? As Waku says, unpicking this whole war to repair two or three terrain squares that arguably shouldn't be there anyway, is not really on. Why not get stuck in to the Spanish to get your revenge, Chris? Your English ally stands by to assist!

(And remember folks, it's only a game!)

It's my move, and I feel like I just got reamed.

Maybe you didn't notice, I have a tiny military, and now this.

An ultimatum.

Unacceptable.

I was ALREADY attacked, and now I'm threatened yet again, if I don't comply, a war I can't win comes my way.

Waku, TONS OF TREASURE????
Holland is behind in everything, it took forever just to get farmers and horse cannons, if I have tons of money, it sure didn't come from a few terrain squares, nor did I see this ready cash.

My proposal is this:

Spain will send farmers to make productive what they destroyed, and I will transform the other squares as farmers become available to do it.

I still say I was attacked for no reason here, I have no idea why you think I have loads of cash or production Waku, I even posted numbers to prove that.

I'm also disapointed that you forgot something, and then acted without consultation, when, in ALL the games we played, did I EVER do that to you?
You know the answer, it's never.

John, you misread what Waku said, he says I have two turns to convert terrain, or else.
Can't be done, but I can start some of them, but it's still patentently unfair, but since I'm the weaker power, I have no choice here.

I believe I'm being more then fair here, I did nothing wrong or without consultation.

We will move when France, England and Spain reply.

Chris, (Sorry if this would better be delivered as a PM to you all, but I don't have time at the moment to conduct 3 separate email discussions)

I thought that, under the agreements/statements we all posted over the last few days, you accepted Waku's right to declare war on you?

Leave aside for the moment his plundering of your "special" squares. If it is OK for him to declare war, then it is OK for him to plunder, presumably? If you are as relatively weak as you say, you couldn't have stopped him doing so anyway, correct?

Waku is giving you two turns' notice (more than required and more than I gave Henrik ). It does't matter that it is conditional, or that you have no practical hope of meeting the conditions. Just treat it as a war declaration, in that case.

Now I do see your point about the unilateral plundering of those squares when you and he were supposedly allied. That was, strictly speaking, against our agreement. If Waku had sneak-attacked you massively without warning, then indeed we would be talking about him breaking the rules.

However annoying though, it was simply the plundering of terrains that he believed (whether mistakenly or not, that is a whole different arguement I have no interest in raking over again) were illegal.

Annoying, discourteous perhaps, but not worth too much anguish. He can plunder those terrains and more once he is at war with you, so what have you lost? A few trade arrows for a few turns. The Dutch have all the techs and money they are likely to need, so I guess you can live with it. Let England gift you 500 gold to make up for it, and let's get on with the Mother of all Battles!

Sorry for not posting, School is hectic (especially as I am going away next week and need to make up for it beforehand).
I must say I find myself in agreement with John, let us abondon this discussion and go to war.
France considers Holland a friend in this war as they have a common enemy in Spain, while France hasn't been doing well in their war against Spain recently she will act as Holland's supporter untill France can join the war in a more physical way.
However this does not mean I am interested in terminating my war with Brittain...

Quite right.

England too, will help Holland as she can, until Holland is on her war footing.

However, we will not gang up against Spain, and England too may go to war against Holland soon, as it would only be fair!

Then we will all be at war with each other and Johnny, finally, will be happy!

Things are progressing very well in the New World, this year saw the fall of the Brittish colony of Boston to the advancing French troops, all of New England is expected to fall soon...

French Grenadier regiments has departed from France to Holland to help defend the Dutch homeland from thier new Spanish enemies.

However in France the war hasn't been going as well as it has in the New World, while French armies are still victorious, the casualties are appaling
Brittish troops are so well entrenched it takes more than twice as many French soldiers to defeat one brittish fortification
Therefore I can report the bitter-sweet victory of having destroyed the newly built brittish trenches west of Paris.
In these trenches we where also able to catch several Brittish seige engineers who where promptly executed without mercy.

In retribution for the horrible Brittish burning of the French countryside, raiders destroyed a mine near Exeter.

Note: The Dutch AI broke off my alliance with them so the units I gifted them has been relocated, French units besieging Brittish cities in the New World has also been relocated(though I moved them right back, they did lose one turn of movement though ).

Well done for Boston, Henrik. How did you manage to take out the Artillery Fort with only Grenadiers? I can never manage that!

True that would've been a good feat for only grenadiers, fortunatly I didn't have only grenadiers (as will be rather evident when you load your turn)
I didn't use a siege gun though...

And as for Paris, that fort just made sure many of the Grenadiers guarding Paris now has veteran status (I did lose way too many cavalry/horse artillery units to be entirely comfortable though )

Geez - another Artillery fort taken out with boarding parties for only 1 loss? I made those Forts too weak!

A Spanish Raider destroyed outside Savannah. Unfortunately they took many of our men with them...

Boston retaken - again, mostly with (4) Boarding Parties. All of which survived! I made those guys way too strong....

Newly-built Heavy Artillery took out French Grenadiers skulking in the forests around Fort Ticonderoga. However, it took every hit point but one that the guns had - those guys must have been super-elite! If they hadn't had abandoned their position behind a river, I would have lost. Your Grenadiers in the New World are tough cookies, Henrik! Veterans of the last war, I guess...

Outside Paris, a patrolling Dragoon regiment surprised and destroyed a Horse Artillery battery and its escorting regiment. Unfortunately, like British cavalry across the ages, they got carried away and were detroyed in turn on the bayonets of a nearby Grenadier regiment. However, British Dragoons in Europe and America have distinguished themselves this year - unlike their many sorry performances in the past...

Some minor bombardment of Paris was undertaken, purely to bring the last of our vast battery of guns up to veteran pitch! An antiquated regiment of Spanish Halberdiers was put to flight outside Reims by our amused troops!

Into the last 2 decades of the game...

The year of our lord 1780: Increase Your PM Length

Bostonne has once again fallen to advancing French troops, however due to the many battles in the area most of the city's population has either fled or been cought in the crossfire by now.
The once bussy streets are now empty and many of the houses have been abondoned, a traveling french diplomat who visited the area made the reflection that the city has become more of a ghost town surounded by heavy fortifications than a bustling commerce metroplis it was once known as...
The French Ministry of War fears that the city will be destroyed should it be subject to any more fighting in it's imidiate vincinity and has thus began constructing non combatant shelters.
To the north the city of Penobscotte has also fallen to French troops. This, to the occupants suprise, also resulted in a Brittish two decker to the south that had previously been spotted by french ships, desserting it's Brittish colours after a violent mutiny amongst the crew, the majority, it would appear, had thier homes in Penobscot and their loyalities lay there rather than to "the parasite in London"...

The small outpost northeast of Fort Tinconderoga has also surrendered to French troops and a French army, still consisting of many veterans once stationed at the fort is now preparing to lay seige to it...

However all is not well in New France, the unexpected fall of Bostonne last year resulted in the New World administration breaking down, and city councils ran amok due to lack of guidiance.
Due to this French recruitment rates all over New France where bellow expectations, instead a number of water supplies, Frigates and Men of war where constructed in the colonies.
A number of colonists where also by misstake ordered to leave thier homes to settle the land around them as colonists, these where promptly sent back to thier homes...
(When Boston fell the AI changed the production orders for all cities on the same continent )

In the very north the city of New Brunnswick is under heavy seige from French troops, the city is expected to fall within short.

Due to Brittish propaganda about an iminent attack on Paris, French troops from all over the continent have been reinforcing the city's defences, while it is suspected that this may well be a Brittish trick to make the French army leave less important cities with minumum garrisons we cannot risk the loss of our capital...

Barbuda and Granada captured from the Spanish! Guadelupe was also raided, but the defenders of the Spanish Treasure Fleet (hint, hint) moored there proved too much for our landing parties.....

The French despoilers of Boston have been eliminated for no English loss, as they sprawled drunkenly in the blazing city streets, having found the Town rum store. However, the town is now but a charred wreckage of the fine Georgian streets and houses that once stood there.....

A French Privateer sunk off Penobscot, with all hands...

Some of the forces besieging Fort Ticonderoga have been dispersed by heavy gunfire, but with the Fort seemingly about to fall, the guns have been removed by sea to a place of safety.

(By the way, Henrik, Fort Georgie?! Fort Georges, perhaps. Although Fort Louis would be best.)

The cynical and quite deliberate Dutch blockade of Portsmouth - threatening to ruin our strategy for operations on the continent this year - is considered to be tantamount to an act of War! Accordingly, Britain cancels her alliance with Holland. No action has been taken against the Dutchmen - nor will it, unless Dutch ships again interfere with the movement of British supplies across the Channel or commit similar provocations....A state of uneasy peace reigns between our two nations.

(Why did you do that, Chris? Hardly the act of an ally! I thought you wanted peace, but I'm glad you've decided to join in the fun.)

Hearing of the massive concentration of French defenders in Paris, the British Staff resolved to attack elsewhere - and increase the isolation of the French Capital. Accordingly, many Marines and Grenadiers, supported with Horse Artillery, attacked Orleans. Our casualties were modest, but many troops were scattered across the countryside, and are very vulnerable to a French counterattack. Nevertheless, the city DID fall - and a large convoy (well, OK, 2) of Heavy Guns approaching the city from the south (quite undefended) was captured.

Paris was again bombarded, and two Grenadier regiments dispersed, and two more Howitzer Batteries trained up to the highest pitch! Several more infantry regiments brought over from England to replace the Orleans detachment in the trenches overlooking Paris.

Pirates destroyed in the approaches to the Channel.

This is TOTALLY unfair.

If you refuse, I will sink any damn ship that agains hinders my attempts to defend my colonies, which thanks tro Britain and France, I lost a trip halfway accross the world with.
