a) So we agree on something. Still, you said commies didn't support the King, and I mostly think you're wrong about that. The overwhelming majority of the people who see themselves as commies in Sweden still belong to vp after all, and vp can't really be said to have the issue of a republic anywhere near the top of their agenda. Probably the scattered loonie sects to the left of vp do take issue with monarchy, but they are even more insignificant than the Republican Club.
b) Agree. Still, it is at least a decent indicator about how important people feel this issue is. The answer, of course, seem to be somewhat less important the settling the approved colour for sunshades in your local housing community.
I'm not sold on the King myself, btw. I'm into monarchy for a lot of pragmatic reasons - it's way cheaper than presidential elections every couple of years, the King sells, and you avoid that effect that's displayed here at Poly most every day - in republics people who didn't vote for the current head of state often hate them with a passion. Look at the Yanks fighting it out over Clinton and Bush.
