Yeah, go ahead and drop the "detects spring-loaded traps" part. We've already got a thief-type character, and I automatically detect traps and pitfalls. Make it a "Vorpal" weapon or something fun like that--you can never have too many vorpal weapons in a party, I say.

Let's give me a +3 bastard sword of cleaving, with like a 3 in 30 chance of totally chopping somebody in half.
Plus, in addition to the magic singing hatchet for when our asses are in a sling, let's add a Lantern of Revelation that will allow us to see beyond doors and a Djin's Rope that can extend to any length and is unbreakable.
That sounds about right.
Oh, and a ring of Invisibility.
And this chair...and this paddleball...and this remote control...and that's all I need.

Great, all us lowly wimps with powerful magical items.

I'll take a Cloak of Eyes, which detects hidden, invisible, out of phase characters and critters. I'll also take a rust-proof elven chain +3, a bag of holding, a ring of free action, a helm of wakefulness +3 (I can never be stunned, knocked unconscious, etc.), gaunlets of orge strength, and a long bow of kings (speed + accuracy).

You continue down the corridor until it forks off. You can see that, down one fork, there's a room with a bunch of pillars; down the other, it's a room with fire shooting out of the walls.

Which do you head down?

How high are the flames? From the floor, that is.

They vary. The walls in that room appear to be 12 feet apart. The flames shoot out to 11 feet and are themselves perhaps a foot and a half across; the places it's being shot from are at varying heights. And you can't fly over.

The flames are shooting out from the walls randomly. No spitters or anything. Just coming right out of the walls.

If we want to go trough the flame room, I HAVE protetion from fire spells just in case.

ooh, and can I have a ring to have double my usual spells or something? I think there was one in Baldur's Gate, so it's not THAT great.

Right, so no need of druids spells? Gives invulnerability to normal fire you know, and half from magic fire, and a +4 against fire attacks.
