Wait till more adventurers appear.

Failing that, I suggest we press on. If chased we can always barricade the door. We might find another exit.

If we fight the spiders they'll probably poison us, which is not too much of a problem if we're escaping the dungeon, but I don't want to be sick entering it.

The spiders turn down the offer of friendship. As a result, you urinate on them. This forces them to retreat to their holes.

If you want to try and jump across now, you'll have to make a Jumping check at -6 (stoned). Or you could just get Loin to fly you over.

As the spiders are out of the way, you follow Loin back to the bottomless pit room. Are you going to jump across?
